Just curious. I'm a middle child, for the record.

Almost forgot this part: do you think this plays a part in people's religion and/or spirituality?
(I personally do not, but I have heard people make such claims.)

It's not only for regulars. I just put that part in there so it would be R&S-relevant.

I am an old only child but I do have a step-sister who is five years older than me.
I am atheist. Being an only child I have always been pretty independent so this may have played into my religion and spirituality in a sense because I tend to think for myself and want to learn things for myself instead of simply accepting what I am told.

Born 2nd, but with all of the marriages my parents have had, a combined 6, and a combined number of step siblings coming and going 9 plus me and my brother 11, I lost track a long time ago, maybe that plays a part in me seeking outside the traditional Christian to find my own path in the Pagan.

I am the second child and oldest daughter of 7 children. I don't think it affected my Christian belief but it made me a more responsible person at an early age. I was in charge of 5 younger siblings from the time I was 11 years of age while my parents were at work. My grandmother lived with us and supervised but ill health kept her from actively caring for the kids. (Think the Waltons here)

Only child, non-Abrahamic Theist
Both of my parents are hippies. Both believed in talking to me as an adult from my earliest age. If they could not answer my questions we would go look it up or ask someone else.
Both parents were raised some sort of Protestant. My father, whom my early theology was most effected by, is an Agnostic Theist. My mother is an open Atheist (not very popular with her family).
ADD: I am surprised no ones said something about being from a large family and being Catholic. *chuckle*

I'm the baby and yeah I think it does have an influence on my spirituality in that I have broken away from the beliefs of the rest of the family. Being the baby I have always been encouraged to be unique and different.

Hmm... I'm eldest but I think the answer you're looking for is in the Psychology Category.
edit: Oh yeah, I also don't think it's got anything to do with religion whatsoever. Once, I think it's more of a Psychological thing.

Rachel, our similarities continue to surprise me, lol. I too am a middle child. I don't think it plays anything on my religious aspects of life, but could be a reason why I think I am the best child, lol. . . .the good stuff of anything is always in the middle, lol.

No, It has nothing to do with your salvation with God, When we mention the seed line, we always use the 1st male child, as a seed line, But it does not make any difference if you are the 1st or 2nd Or the last in the family, If your heart is true to God, you are just as saved as the 1st born.

I am the younger of two children. In fact, my brother & I were born on the same day, a year apart.
I don't think it's played a huge role in my life spirittually, though I did always think that was cool.
