Women cope by finding someone else. And yes, it is more difficult for women because men just take it as a challenge. But for women, it means that he's just not that into you.

...I believe it's simply hard on everyone my friend....no matter what gender or persuasion you're drifting in reasonably. Being "realistic" in knowing you can't force LOVE on anyone should be your "REAL" mantra though. They are gonna have to wanna choose to LOVE you too reasonably....in order for anything to come around for the both of you two with a good resolution anyways....agreed? Some things we want simply WON'T come to pass for us certainly....and being accepting of these facts will assist you mentally in helping to pull your own mind through these uncomfortable moments really. Reality does spank us all hard occasionally my friend....so learn to accept and deal with the uncomfortable moment it creates for you...and then let it pass you by willingly. Being stuck with an impossibility ain't fun for anyone......especially when the moment belongs to YOU. Life stands still for no one partner.....not even you and me reasonably....so pull yourself together mentally....and accept the fact that you have no control over ALL things seriously....cause you don't.
