This matter is strongly supported in the Bible
Your reference in the Book of Luke shows this, as well as 1 Thess 4:17
" Then we who are living, who are left remaining will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we will be always with the Lord"

The Lord also spoke to in the book of revelation to the CHurch in Philadelphia telling her that He will save her from the hour of trial which is to come upon the whole earth.

Revelation 3:10
"Because you have kept my word of endurance I also will keep you out of the hour of trial which is about to come on the whole inhabited earth, to try them who dwell on the earth"

So if these ones will not be on the earth, then we can clearly deduce that they will be raptured to be with the Lord. But these will have to come back with the Lord after the end of the great tribulation to fight Antichrist with the Lord Jesus.

May we all be faithful to keep th Lord's word of Endurance and Love His name above all else by not denying Him.
Too often we take the name of another, be it penticostal, methodist, baptist.. May we be saved from other labels and just take Jesus Only.

1 Thess 5 :23
And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ!"

The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you all

I do not believe that the scriptures you site are related to the rapture. If you notice in the parable of the Tares it is the Tares that are first removed and bound together to be tossed in the fire and the wheat is left to shine forth in the Kingdom of the Father.
The "Rapture" is that part in scripture IThessalonians 4:17 "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
This contrary to most who hold to a dispensational view of endtime prophecy occurs at the end of time simultaneously with the resurrection of the dead. Dispensationalism is the doctrine initiated by John Nelson Darby that the bible is to be interpreted with God having two distinct people (the church and ethnic/national Israel) with two distinct purposes and two distinct destinies. This is what began the belief that one can miss the rapture and be saved as one of those left behind like it illustrates in the "Left Behind" series by Tim LaHaye. This may make for nice fiction but is not what the bible teaches. In the Olivet discourse Jesus taught those present that they would soon see the vindication of Christ and His sitting at the right hand of the Father by the "Coming in the clouds" which is an old testament metaphor for the judgement of God which occured in the great tribulation by Rome upon the people of "that Generation" and the destruction of the Temple in 70AD. Today dispensationalists are waiting for the rebuilding of the temple and the reinstitution of temple sacrificial system. But Jesus told the woman at the well that the time would come when He would no longer be worshipped in garrison but would dwell in the hearts of His believers as He does now.
To fall back into the types and shadows of the old testament which pointed forward to the Kingdom of God shed abroad in the hearts of men is to put to open shame the death and resurrection of Christ through the reinstitution of temple sacrifice which could not then, now or ever will atone for the sins of man.

It is clear from reading the entire bible that the rapture happened shortly after Christ's ascension. Both Matthew and Mark state that Christ said: :Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

That is why Revelation 20:8 states that Satan shall go out to deceive the nations after the thousand year reign. I believe the thousand year reign occurred just as Jesus said, shortly after he ascended, he returned in like manner.

It is clear from a reading of Revelation that the actions are repeated in several chapters, so it is not in chronological order.

So, the answer is yes, I believe in the rapture, but I believe it has passed.

Hi Suzzane!

Here goes.

The term rapture is not mentioned in the Bible. We have defined this word to refer to the coming of Christ and the rapture of the Saints of God. This term rapture can be mis-understood if not defined properly within the biblical context. I would like to first clear up the rapture controversy. The Bible doesn't support the doctrine of the "Secret Rapture" as taught by many denominations.

The teaching known as the "secret rapture", according to which the saints are to be secretly snatched away from this earth prior to the visible return of Christ, is wholly unscriptural. The above mentioned verses(Luke 17:34-37) must be read in light of other passages regarding the coming of Christ to get a clear contextual meaning.

The "coming" of Christ is always without exception, the literal, visible appearance of Christ. (See: Matthew 24:3,27,30,39,42,44,46,48,50). At his coming "all the tribes of the earth....see the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven"(v. 30). Everthing of the nature of a "secret" coming Christ attributed to the false Christs(Matthew 24:24-26).

What Jesus meant by being "taken" and by being "left" is made clear by the context. Those who are left are the evil servants, who instead of continuing in their normal pursuits after a supposed secret rapture, are cut asunder and assigned their portion with the hypocrites(Matthew 24:48-51).

The Greek word for left is "aphiemis". This word means "to send away," "to dismiss". The Greek precludes the idea that it is the righteous who are "left". The righteous are , literally, "received", and the wicked "sent away."

Christ is coming again. His coming will not be secret. It will be literal and visible. John says in Revelation 1:7, that every eye shall see him.

I Thessalonians 4:16,17, declares that Christ coming will be with a "SHOUT". The voice of the Archangel. In other words we will not miss this amazing glorious event. Some will be saved, and others will be lost.

The coming of Christ also marks the beginning of the Milennium.

Have faith dear friends in God.

Are you ready for Jesus to come?

Maranatha(The Lord is coming).

Yes I believe in it, we just don't know when it's going to happen.
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words."

Yes, and here's another passage that seems to REALLY support the Rapture:

" 13 Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.
14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
15 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
18 Therefore encourage each other with these words."

The Bible tells us in the book of Thessalonians that we will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. this is why Jesus warned that at His return, we are not to believe anyone who tells us that he is in the desert or he is in the secret place. his feet will not touch the earth at His return. I would recommend you watch 2 really good movies which deal with the return and what happens just after the return to those who are left behind to go through the tribulation. The titles are "A thief in the night" and "Distant thunder" God Bless!

It is our Hope based on the Word of God.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

The Rapture didn't come into existance until 1830 when a 14 yr old girl had a dream that God would lift people up before the biggest trial of their life.

I don't believe that God would rob us of a chance to prove that we will follow him in trial, especially the one before his return.

The above scripture refers to people accepting the gospel, not being lifted up before a major trial.

Yes I believe in the rapture. & we have to see those verses correctly, This is only parable, Jesus is not saying if 2 Born again Christians are in bed that he will only take one & leave the other, He is saying that if one is ready & the other is not, then the one that is ready will go. We need to know how to read the bible with a spiriual mind.
