Since Chihuahuas are so small it is important that they get the healthiest diet possible some good choices are Nature's Variety, Canidae, Innova, Eagle Pack, Wellness, Natural Balance etc. I would also add vegetables and fruit to the mix, baby carrots, broccoli, green beans, sweet potatoes, apples, oranges (never ever grapes or raisins). I would have plenty of toys for your Chi to play with and get on the floor and play with it. I would also take it out for walks, be sure to keep on a leash.. so many dangers to your little Chi like other dogs, bigger cats, even hawks and other birds of prey, cars (tiny Chis can sure zoom when they want to). Give your Chi plenty of lap time and snuggles as they are definitely a people doggie. And regular vet check ups including neutering it. Get yourself "Chihuahuas for Dummies" and read it.. lots of great Chi info in there.

Make sure he is eating good and nutrition food. Also once in a while bring em out to play. Let it enjoy the fresh air and it will also have a longer lifespan.

excercise, regular checkups with the vet, heartworm/flea/tick preventatives, training, not over-feeding, refrain from feeding large amounts of people food, and again excercise! :)
