I think the ability to travel back in time, like to the very beginning, would be great. You could see for yourself if any of the folks mentioned in the bible ever really existed, and if their stories are true, including the story of Jesus.
Of course, like space travel, only a few select 'elite' would be granted the privilege of using the time machince, therefore, we'd still have to rely on second-hand accounts to answer our questions, instead of being able to see for ourselves. I think it would give way too much power to the wrong people, who could and likely would manipulate their findings to suit some kind of evil agenda.

Maybe you should read the article. They talk about how most physicists think the physics is sketchy. They also discuss that one couldn't go back to before the machine was created, so people wouldn't be meeting Jesus and Muhammed.
Einstein's work actually showed the world that time travel was NOT theoretically possible, except in very specific (and practically useless) cases. This was proved by mathematician Kurt Godel using General Relativity.

Maybe if Christians pray harder we humans will achieve this time travel quicker? Don't they say all things are possible through Christ..well then... go to!
I wonder why the machine will only be able to go back to the time it was invented or made rather...not much use initially at all but eventually antique time machines will go for top prices I guess.

Einstein's work showed that time travel was possible in a forward direction, not backward (and that, at light speed, travel over any distance seems to occur instantaneously). I know what the article says, but it seems incredibly far-fetched, especially for a physicist.

Since they're just now talking about it, then it probably already exists.
Who knows? The Christians might claim that this machine is from the devil and not trust any information gleaned from traveling back in time.

Scientists must study the sacred journey of Muhammad pbuh to heavens (Me'araaj), the secret of time machine is hidden in this event described in Islam.
Muhammad pbuh had gone through different frame of reference of time and space during this night journey to heavens.

While an interesting concept, it does bring up old and well worn arguments: paradoxes, time criminals, no evidence in the past or present of future time travel, etc.

einstien showed that time travel forward was possible, but backwards was impossible.
however, nothing that does not exist at a velocity of light, or greater, can ever achieve a velocity equal to or greater than light.

but if time travel were possible, then wouldn't we already have travellers from the future visiting us? it would be very naive for us to think that we are the very first existence to reach the future and discover time travel

time doesn't even go backwards in a black hole
minus 1 doesn't work with time the slowest it goes is 0.
