I don't know about any shots. But the best way is to stay away for the people who have it. If that is not possible wash your hands all the time. Do not eat or drink after that person.. Spray your house and things like toilet handles, light switches, etc. with Lysol spray. Change bedding often. Keep things clean. Use dishwasher to do dishes. If you don't have one add a little bleach to your dishwater.

The shots are going to protect you from certain strains of the flu, but not all. The "stomach flu" is usually a bacteria that is causing gastroenteritis. this is what causes all the puking and diarrhea. Fod poisoning is usually the culprit. There are viruses out there that cause puking and such, and the only way to really take precaution against those is to make sure you are washing your hands alot. Keep yourself and your family away from crowded places as that is where you would be most likely to directly or indirectly expose yourself, and the flu shot is always a good idea. It can save your life! I had the flu every year until I started getting immunized. I havent had the flu in 4 years.

I continue to here negative reports about shots. I can't think they're all wrong. I do know that the best cure for illness is water. It washes our excess germs and the immune system is already advise. Water washes germs out of lymph system also and aids immunity, keeps the bladder clean. Water and not getting germs from the hands, mainly, into the mouths, eyes etc. And my doctor ads plenty of rest and some of the other recommends like fresh air and exercise. That works so well for me I hardly need add anything. The mental health seems to be similar. Letting ideas pass thought and not holding on to them too long as every second brings new ideas and situation, Being stuck in the past or future ruins th e now and a good now is the best preparation for a good futur, not dragging the past into it. Not that the past is gone. They tell us it's all remember, just that it can clog the present ability to see the situation we are actually in rather than helping, in the conscious mind anyway. Knowing the truth will set us free and only the present is true, in a sense. Hug kids, don't kiss them, they don't know all about hygiene yet and always have something of their own or from other kids.

There is no such thing as the "stomach flu". Flu is a respitory/lung illness that one can get shots for that are usually suggested for older people or those with compromised immune systems, lung problems, etc. The strains are always changing and the shots don't garantee you won't get it.
The so called stomach flu is from fecal contamination...oral/fecal. From something contaminated by body waste....to your mouth. So washing hands, food, proper cooking, cleaning plates, making sure drinking water is pure, etc is about the only prevention. Most don't believe this, but check with your State Health Dept.

I'm not aware of any "stomach flu" shots. Sometimes there are strains of viruses that bother the intestines and good rules of hygiene are your best protection. Some "stomach flu" is from eating contaminated foods. If you have frequent episodes, you might want to get checked out for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)..

#1 reason to prevent any stomach flu....GOOD HANDWASHING. Washing with warm soap and water...with good friction for at least 20-30 seconds--long enough to sing one verse of Oh McDonald or Happy Birthday.

Gastroenteritis is nearest thing to be described as stomach flu. Don't believe there are any shots for this so they won't hurt.......Confirm your initial question is correct.

There are really no ways to prevent that, just stay away from people with it, and wash your hands often.

I don't think the shots hurt, but if I am not mistaken they usually make you sick... Its so that your body builds up a natural immunity to the worse one. Dunno if thats still the case... Doctors have answers. Needles too.
