Other than getting rid of the source of stress (which isn't possible at the minute), what's the best way to get rid of tension headaches?

Every day I have off work I wake up in the morning with a thumping headache which I can't seem to shift with painkillers. I'm sure they're just standard tension headaches, but I need to ideas to get rid of them.

Do you have access to Excedrin? Excedrin Tension Headache works miracles. Other than that, take a hot shower. It usually helps alleviate some of the pain.

By the way, do you drink a lot of coffee or tea when you are at work that you don't drink on your days off? Then your headaches might be caffeine-withdrawal symptoms (it happens!).

Headache is among the most common medical complaints. Whenever a headache strikes drink lots of water .Lack of oxygen may have lead to your headache. Place a few ice-cubes in a polythene bag, and apply this on the forehead and temples. Check out http://useinfo-headache.blogspot.com/ for more info

know the feeling. My job is pretty stressful. I have taken up T'ai Chi and i find that it gives me the ability to be able to relax which helps considerably. The beauty of T'ai Chi is that you can get up in the morning, do a few simple exercises and relax and recharge your batteries at the same time.

mesa is talking aromatherapy, and me too. I find that a drop or two of Lavender essential oil rubbed into each temple stops migraines, so tension headaches might stop as well.
