is it better to run an hour once a day at a heart rate of 170 or twice a day (morning and evening), 30 min plus each at the same heart rate?

What day is it? The so called "professionals" change this all the time. It's been up for debate forever. I think as long as you are exercising (whenever or however) then you are doing more than most. The last doctor I consulted about exercise told me that you need 45 min to 1 hr. per day non-stop. Whether that's true or not, I really don't know. Good luck!

It depends on your motive. If you are looking for general conditioning or weight lose then it doesn't matter how you do the exercise it is the total for the day that matters. If you are training for distance running then doing the longer once a day run is better.

I would say once a day would be enough...

But after walking from 9 to 15 miles a day at work, I don't walk anywhere I don't have to! lol
