I have just been dumped by by GF of two years and am looking for the positive side of this to cheer me up.
What are the good sides to being single?

You do not have to answer to any one, you can do your own things that you want with out asking, you have more time (that could be a bad point also).

The advantage of being single can be describe by considering those factors:
Responsibility:
You got less responsibility. More freedom, more free time.
Time:
You have least time to think, or zero, about your lover. So you can focus more on your job. Also, no lover, you already cut your network of responsibilities, no need to do a lot of visiting others relative of your lover.
Stress:
Love sometimes can put you into stress. Depend on how your personalities is and how your lover's, single sometimes make you less stress when you're no longer controlled by someone you love. It will be stress when it come to jealously, manhood abilities and money problem.
Money:
No girlfriend mean you no need to spend money to buy something hard for you for your lover. Just express your need, buy your own.
Heart-broken:
No love, no heart broken.
Freedom:
You can go out with anyone with no particular relationship. No jealously from your lover, since you have none.
Level Up:
Since you have more time, more focus on your own, you can put yourself to learn many new things by travelling alone, by studying or anything. Take this single time to do many good thing that you can't do when you're engage with someone.
Modal for later life.
Since you have more money, less spend on your lover, use this money as a modal to build your empire.
Luxury:
More money, more enjoyment on spending. With no more to buy bracelets, rings, chocolate or clothes or junkies to somebody, you now can keep your money to buy something more than you never can buy when you're not single.
Less worry:
Something like stress or depress, you no longer miss her. You can go anywhere without thinking, someone will take her. Or if I die, what will happen to my lover.
Less guilty:
You can go out with anybody, no guilty. We're partner at work, we're study in class. Nobody will fire me that I not belong to anybody.
High rate:
You're more likely to be approach by newbies. Since if everybody know you're single, you're most likely get contact with others. Married drop your rate.
More selections:
You can determine to choose who to be your's so special. Evaluate many girls out there before you got one.

I have just fell out with my mrs of 1 year and i dont know ... i was quite happy with her ...
u can sit on your own, go cinema on your own, go for a meal on your own or you could sit on your own on yahoo answers like me ..... they say it gives you an opportunity to get to know your self again see your friends more often ... find out what you want etc...
but thats bull as i knew who i was and what i wanted and now its gone !!
sorry to cheer you up so much but there isnt much that is positive in this for me or her at the minute ..
been through it before time is a great healer .. the old cliche

Well the way I see it there is quite a few advantages of being single...
-more free time with friends
-dont have to worry about complianing
-Can flirt all you want
-no more fighting
-may have more money for yourself
dont have to worry about being ontime
Stuff like that is the good side of being single.

You get to flirt with all the girls you want to now and you can date a different girl everyday of the week as long as your not going out with a steady girlfriend because it is not cheating. I love the fact that I'm single because I can check out a multitude of women daily with out having a girlfriend to cheat on. It's the greatest cheer up man.

Sorry for your pain. There are many good sides to being single. You can do whatever you like, with whoever you like. Spending time with friends is great! It is a very free feeling, like you can take on the world!

Interesting that your name is "The Taker". The time you are single is the time you can allow yourself to learn to be "a giver" and have better understanding of yourself and therefore have a better understanding of others.
Someone wrote: "No one to lie to about that one night stand". I would advise you to ignore this fella's advice. Anyone who writes that having a partner in their life is someone to be lied is not equipped to dispense advice about romance.
