every company has one. i like to think i should run my life the same way i would run a small business, with growth in mind, and goals to accomplish that growth, so i've written my plans down, and i check up on them once in a while to track my progress and make necessary changes. does anyone else do the same? if so, when was the last time you made a revision? how has writing your goals down been beneficial to as opposed to just tucking them away in your mind?

in case you're wondering what this has to do with R&S, refer to ezekiel 43:11b. my question has to do with the practical application i've gotten out of reading that particular passage.

I don't do that, but it's really a pretty good idea. I like it.

Well, in my twenties, I did this much more.
It has always been very important to me.
Journaling also helps me clarify what
my goals should be.

However, now in my mid-thirties, life
seems more overwhelming and goes
by so fast (especially since I got
married at age 30 for some reason ;-).
Perhaps there are just too
many things I want to do as well.
I am having a difficult time accomplishing
things I want to accomplish and have been praying
about it, about what I should really be accomplishing.
There is a struggle going on.
It is kind of discouraging to have a list at this point,
actually. This year, I have been trying
to refocus, not being burdened so much
by the list of what I have been wanting to
accomplish (It has been the same list for over
5 years and perhaps I have only accomplished
about 20% of it at best. It was a list that was,
in my mind, supposed to be accomplished in
3 years at the most to move on to other,
better things). It has been tough, perhaps
I will learn something good from it, though!

Last weekend, I was praying and a
scripture came to mind:
"In ALL your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will direct your paths"
So, I am indeed stepping back and
looking at things a in any different way
possible to be more successful, less
burdened and/or distracted.
I am willing to adjust my time and effort.

YEP, I do !
I once heard a TV Evangelist suggest that we should make a list of our assets, our ambitions, and even our prayers to God....... and then lock them away until your next Birthday and review how you went.
So, now I do that every Birthday and include all my wishes and "hurts" - and you would be surprised how much better it makes you feel (especially, if "life" has been good to you).

Give it a try - can't hurt, and You will be the only one to see it.

A mission statement for my life? Hell, I don't even bother balancing my checkbook anymore. If I'm going to waste time I'm going to have fun wasting it.

It's always been the same:

"Take up space, consume mass quantities, and watch satellite."
