i believe it is just natural evolution of the earth, and there is nothing that can be done about it. wot do u think?

confused girl, global warming and global cooling happened before humans were around, this is no different now. i have no child and no car, all life is precious. i believe that this is just natural evolution of the earth as before, i have never seen proof to make me believe any difference.

all these sites i've been given to look, seen them all before, never seen so many different graphes trying to show the same thing with different information. i still see no proof of us causing this warming. all of this is science speculation, i've seen no science fact. these sites r just someones ideas only, the same as this arguement.

People have a desire, almost a need to accept guilt. Global warming is a great therapy for them. For others it's a way to control other people's lives, and for others a way to stand with a 'consensus', to follow others for self importance.

Yet, there is nothing we can do. The climate is set by the sun.

We know from ice core samples that historically when global warming occurred, atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations also increased, but not until about 800 years later.

Many global warming deniers think this is evidence that CO2 can’t cause global warming. In fact, that’s the very first argument in the terrible Great Global Warming Swindle. On the contrary, this is actually evidence that human greenhouse gas emissions are currently causing global warming. Compare the following global temperature and atmospheric CO2 concentration plots from 1960-Present:

http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/info/warming/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mauna_Loa_Carbon_Dioxide.png

As you can see they’re both rising – not with an 800 year delay, but at the same time. If CO2 wasn’t causing global warming as was the case in the past, then why is there no 800 year delay?

This only proves a correlation between CO2 and global warming and not a causality. The reason we’ve concluded that greenhouse gas emissions are causing global warming (or more accurately, accelerating it) is because natural causes can’t account for the increase in global warming over the past 40-50 years. They account for most of the warming prior to that, but climate models have determined that greenhouse gases are responsible for about 80-90% of the recent global warming:

The very first inputs into climate models were solar, volcanic, and sunspot contributions, but they simply couldn’t account for the recent acceleration in global warming. Thus climate scientists have concluded that humans are the primary cause.

Just read yet ANOTHER argument against global warming. In essence it says:

The impact of carbon dioxide emissions on worldwide temperatures is largely irrelevant, prompting Reid Bryson, founding chairman of the Department of Meteorology at the University of Wisconsin, to joke, "You can go outside and spit and have the same effect as doubling carbon dioxide." He acknowledges that the temperature of the earth is increasing (and has been since the early 1800s), but that it's got nothing to do with what man is doing.

The article goes on to say that the global economy will spend trillions of dollars trying to avoid a warming of (about) 1.0 Kelvin by 2100 A.D." This refers to a note written by an astronomer named Ian Wilson to the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. He was referring to the massive expenditures that would be required under such treaties as the Kyoto Protocol. He stated, "Previously, I have indicated that the widely accepted values for temperature increase associated with a double of CO2 were far too high, i.e. 2-4.5 Kelvin. This new peer-reviewed paper claims a value of 1.1 +/- 0.5 K increase," he added.

Another leader, Ivy League geologist Robert Giegengack, chairman of the Department of Earth and Environmental Science at the University of Pennsylvania, said he doesn't even consider global warming among the top 10 environmental problems.

The supporting information in your question contains a fallacy.

The true statement that there have been natural cycles of warming and cooling in the past in no way proves that THIS warming is natural. There is, in fact, good scientific evidence (see Bob's answer) that THIS warming is man-made. You are making an "argument from ignorance".

Global warming is a con! It's a way for the governments of the developed world to try and gain more power and control over the masses!

However, that does not mean that we shouldn't try and be better people! Recycling is one good way, helping to protect other species is another.

No, as Mr Jello tells you, it is the sun. The fact that we are living in a warm climate is a good thing. There will always be droughts, floods and storms, regardless of if we live in a warm climate or a cold climate.

Enjoy the mild winters, they may be gone someday.

It's our fault because if we weren't here, it wouldn't be happening. Well, it would, but it would be much much slower. There are many things you can do to help the environment. First, by reducing the amount of carbon dioxide that's being burned you could slow global warming. this could be done by using less electricity and no cars, for example. but most importantly, by using as less energy as possible. You could also help by buying your food in organic markets, where not many chemicals were added to the food and where the animals live freely. Not using a lot of water could also help, because we, humans, are destroying all of the earth's resources.

hope i helped you and sorry if i made u feel insulted before. Good luck and remember to be eco-friendly.

Here's the proof that this is different, from the peer reviewed literature.

And here's what can be done about it.
