Yes and no. Your body needs salt in order to maintain hydration and all sorts of complex body functions, but most people eat too much salt because processed foods contain a very high salt content.

Health wise, YES you will do your body a favor. Salt is just one of many ways of raising your blood pressure. And as we all know high blood pressure is not good. So reducing (or stopping) your salt intake will help reduce or lower your blood pressure.
