I really struggle with binge eating even though I know a lot about health and eat well. Generally when night time hits for one reason or another I stuff my face. I don't know how to stop, it makes me feel horrible about myself. In the past year I have gained twenty pounds and gone from 135 to 155. This needs to stop!

You do NOT need to see a doctor! People who have the answer 'doctor' to anything like this are insane. I do the same thing. You've just got to do something to keep you occupied. Do something like, 'No eating for me after 8pm' OR else I HAVE to tell my friends I can't go out with them or I can't go to Target to get this or that. However you choose to handle it, you need the support of your friends / family, or it won't work. You also need to be optimistic.

hope this helped

Hi, there's no easy way to say this but binge eating is an eating disorder. HOWEVER it is often in my experience the result of boredom. Try doing something stimulating rather than just having a munch in the evenings. Play a game on the computer that requires your full concentration, or go out and meet someone for a drink!

What I've found does help is keep a food diary. Record and write down everything that you put in your mouth and that way you're aware of every morsel that you're eating.

Hope that is of some help.

It sounds like you need extra help. Contact a mental health professional who specializes in treating binge eating or other eating issues. I wish you health and happiness in your future.

try to find something that's more healthy to satisfy those feelings. Maybe do a night time routen that makes you tired and less apt to wake up and eat.

you should really see a doctor, then possibly a counselor. it's all mental. it is a disease and you can't handle it on your own. you should let your closest friends know too. good luck!
