I have volunteered to be the Environmental Champion for my office floor and have a meeting tomorrow. Apart from paper recylcling. what are the best energy saving practices that you use in your office? Hope you can help. Save the world for another millenia!

Look at the computer hardware you are buying. Over the last 10 years computer have gone from using 150W power supplies to 300W supplies. Most of that in the past was due to the processors. Now that processor clock speeds have dropped due to dual core's, their power consumption has dropped. However, graphic cards have picked up the slack. When getting a machine for business look for graphic cards based on the Intel Chip set or Matrox. ATI and NVidia are focused on 3D apps. They suck power. Most business apps are 2D.

Abolish the dress code during summer months. This has been done in numerous cities and it is a huge help. If you aren't wearing a 3 piece suit, you don't need the AC to be set as low. Simple cause and effect.

I don't think these are exactly what you meant, but these are ideas. Carpooling, a reusable water bottle, using the computer instead of paper, bringing lunch in a lunchbox as opposed to a paper sack...
