Yay! Michael Vick pled guilty to charges that he killed dogs,so he WILL spend at least 12 months in prison, and his career is most likely shot.I couldn't be happier! Who else is glad that he's getting just what he deserves ? (personally,I think he should do at least 5 years)

Oh,I SO hope that he has to do more tome.AND he should have to do PSAs about the cruelty of dog fighting, and go to schools and discourage kids from doing it.And he should have to donate like,250,000.00 to animal charities.Oh,I could go on and on,with what I would have him do if I were the judge. He'd be SO embarrassed if he had me to sentence him! Stand on a street corner with a sign that says "I'm a cruel, sick b@st@rd,and I deserve to be neutered for my crimes!"

well, according to the news i was watching earlier tonight..they were saying it was a "sweetheart deal"...and he won't do too much time. i am hoping they are wrong! i hope he spends as much time as possible in jail and is never allowed back in the NFL! his career should be over. what a horrible role model for little kids!

OK I just went through and gave a thumbs up to every answer so far... The punishments that our system has for animal cruelty are not nearly harsh enough, the related charges always seem to be "important" Does anyone remember the horrible people who were killing show horses for the insurance money back in the 1990's? When the main "hired assasin", Tommy Burns got busted, he named names and there were a lot of people big in the A circuit horse show scene who were convicted but their big crime was insurance fraud and mail wire fraud. Some of these horses were electocuted for God's sake- one of them had his leg broken with a sledge hammer- this Tommy Burns held him while someone elseBROKE HIS LEG WITH A SLEDGE HAMMER
and this horse was owned by one of the most prominent people in show circles and of course insurance fraud was the more serious crime. I just don't understand. I agree that with incarceration and fines, Michael Vick should be sentenced to work in a public animal shelter. But he is getting far too much attention and anyway animal cruelty will go on...

Your father and mom are conserving you out of your guy or woman inexperience. we could constantly be chuffed that truthfully everyone seems to be doing properly in existence, and want that we can all make sturdy judgements, yet while to procure and wore a Vick jersey you would be drawing interest to your self for the incorrect motives. and you may in all likelihood hear alot of CRAp from some intense Douches obtainable that want to reason difficulty. comprehend your father and mom. Be keen on Vick or whoever you want. in simple terms be sensible approximately it.

No punishment he gets, could ever be harsh enough or long enough, for torturing and killing those poor abused, helpless animals. I could go on about what he deserves, but the list is so long, there's not enough room to write everything down. I think that anyone of any race, who abuses an animal, needs the harshest punishment possible, which in my opinion, again would never be long enough.

I'm glad he's going to jail but 12 months is nothing. He needs to serve longer & I'm glad his career is shot..I have no sympathy for him..That was a dumb move on his part athlete or not..He should get the max penalty like a regular person would..What he did was just cruel..So STUPID! What a waste of talent...

I think it is awesome that he is getting the punishment he deserves. (I wish longer though. He even looks shady.)
The judge can override the plea bargain for a much harsher punishment, which I hope he or she does.
People need to realise that animals aren't something to lash our anger out on, or to hurt them because it is entertaining.
Animals have feelings too, and I think with Michael Vick getting jail time, losing his contract with the NFL and Nike will make people realise that abusing animals, and arranging dog fights are serious offenses.

5 years is the max, and I couldn't agree with you more. Although there probably will be something about parole, so he will probably only end up spending a few days in jail like Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie.
