The 1967 Mustang GTA Fastback should be a 390 335hp 325 rear end ratio with a C6 auto trans GT=A means auto.

The 1967 Mustang GT Fastback 390, 335hp 325 rear and 4 on the floor.

These are from factory stock versions without options of different rearends.

67 Shelby GT500 Fastback few with the 427 425hp (guesstimate) 325 maybe 411 rear and a 4spd.

1967 GT500 should be a 427 or the the 428 which most came with.

Both very powerful fun cars to drive, logically the Shelby should blow the doors of the Mustang GTA, but I can tell you the GT & GTA can hold 2nd gear up to 80mph. I have driven both and 1968 Shelby KR500 428 SCJ, FUN!

Definently the '67 Shelby GT500 was faster, it acctualy had a Shelby engine in it. Shelby's were expensive in 1967 and are even more expensive today so the GT500 wasent even cheap then.

It has a 428-in³ (7 L) big-block V8. Most cars carry 1.0 or 2.0 Liter this beast has a 7 Liter. I think it had a 500 HP engine.

this is kind of a tricky question, there are a lot of factors involved. They are basically the same car, and I believe the GTA came with a big block also. be it a 390, but I think you could special order it with the 428 or even the 427.

It all depends on the prep and tires, back then stock tires weren't very good, so you had to get special racing tires if you wanted to really go fast. so it comes down to the gearing, 2:80-3:00 for speed or 3:55-4:11 for drag racing.

Who ever has the right tires and gears wins :)

well the shelby was obviously faster, its a shelby u dumb***. but a GT500 is gonna b very very rare and pricy these days. not many were made. but its probably one of the most beautiful cars ever made, if u can get ur hands on one ur very lucky.

The Shelby, it was designed to be a race car, that could also be driven on the streets. Had a big motor, nice suspension, etc.

Both of them are heavy, powerful muscle cars. Both top speed is 165km/h+/- see about the condition. The Shelby has more horsepower.
