You assume that I would want them to have a religion .....
Why on earth would I want that?
I have already passed the point where my children have adopted atheism of their own accord and I have guided a step-daughter away from being a 'forced' Born-Again Christian since early childhood, simply through logic.
No force, just talking straight and asking the right questions.
Islam 'enrols' their babies into becoming muslims ... there is no choice at all.
What you do is up to you.

Since I base my decisions on the faith I profess, it only makes sense to explain to my children the things I do. Beyond that, as parents we are supposed to shed light to our children and guide them in the way they should go. NO, that does not mean I'm going to "shove" anything down their throats, but show them the way through a loving example. Ultimately, the choice will be theirs as they grow older, but of course I would want to be a part in that decision. The most important decision in a person's life is whether or not they believe in something greater than themselves (as in God), bc/ it makes all the difference in how they live their lives and how they see the future in terms of an afterlife. I will be involved in that decision as long as they are young, and if they decide to seek a different path at least I know I've done all that I can as a parent to help them navigate their way thoughtfully through life.

I would, I have.
Thats not to say they haven't had spiritual input. They went to Sunday school, They learned about eastern religions. My daughter turned Rastafarian for a while.
You feed your children a range of food to widen there taste, and keep them healthy.
Spirituality is the same they need to at least sample all types, by doing this you allow your children grow.

Answer: Yes.
My belief is simple: Children do grow up to choose their own religion even if you do enrolled them when the are babies.

Well I would let my child choose any religion they want, I was born Roman Cathlic and i dont believe many things in my religion. Some things in the Bibal i just dont find possible. After taking many history classes I learned about many diffrent religions and found them more logical then mine. In my opinion there should be a relgion teaching class for children where they can study diffrent religions and when they decide what they believe in the most or find the most logical they can join that religion instead of having to be raised into something they might not believe in.

My kids can choose whatever religion they like. It's not up to me, I make my religious decisions and they're free to make their's (assuming I ever have kids).
It's wrong to choose a religion for your kid and force them into it. The only right thing is to teach them right from wrong and raise them to the best of your knowledge. Belief is up to them, they are human and have freedom of thought.
Peace.

I guess I would give them good moral education at home. Teach them to be good human beings first and then maybe tell them about God, but I will not try to instil specific religious dogmas upon them. I will encourage them to read and find out for them before choosing their path.
Having said that, I am really not a person for religion. Yes, I believe in God, but most religions and their leaders are simply out to gather numbers behind their back for their own political agenda rather than for the true betterment of the individuals.
So............

I have three children and they are shown all the options. Ultimately it is their choice to choose what they believe and want to follow. I can only offer them guidance and answer their questions, the rest is up to them and their beliefs.

it is the duty of the parent to guide their children whilst they are young to be able to follow the path of righteousness; to create character and a will strong enough to resist whatever can bring them down.
religion is of no consequence. it cannot save them. only their relationship to their God will determine their fruitfulness. therefore, there is no need to force them to join a particular religion. God does not want a forced believer.

I suppose we all teach our children to think the way we do. So although I won't force my son to hold my opinions, I will honestly tell him about my world view. There's a slight change he'll be influenced by that ;).
