I don't know about anywhere else, but it's been unusually cold and wet this summer. It makes me want to release some more greenhouse gasses. :) Just kidding. Seriously though, the earth's atmosphere has been changing since the earth developed an atmosphere. There have been ice ages and warming throughout time. Yeah, man has done some damage, but some of it is natural. As far as man surviving, it'll be as it always has been, survival of the fittest, both physically and mentally. Things change, it's the way of the world.

What preparations have we made for global warming. Untill governments start talking seriously about global warming its all pie in the sky stuff.
I don't think we will see so much of sorching heat as to extreme weather conditions. Expect alot of more storms and more extreme heat and cold..

The best thing we can do to prepare for "Global Warming" is to encourage world-wide Industrial Development. Only those economies that are strong enough to provide relief to their populations will be able to "weather" the coming disasters!

I think the effects will be far more gradual than that. Global warming isn't the end of the world in the conventional sense, but it is bad news for the ecosystem, people in poor, hot countries and many species of plant and animal.

In the west we are more likely to be inconvenienced by GW than anything else. It's unfair but the world's poor will bear the brunt of our over-consumption and modern lifestyles.
