Christianity is based on ancient myths and legends as well as the teaching of Jesus and other prophets. The myths have been around long before Jesus lived. Many of the stories in the bible come from the Mesopotamian times (over 7000 years old), and where changed by the church over the years.
If you look at the what Jesus said he gave the job of running the church to the guy who did not understand spirituality (thats why she choose him).
It was 600 years later until a formal Christian religion was set up and as you can tell a lot changes in 600 years.
So in answer to your Question Christianity was not started until long after Jesus died.

In a way yes.
Christianity is a blend of Pagan, Jewish and Zoroastrian faiths by Gnostics somewhere between 50 and 300 BC. That's BC as in before Christ. Some of the old Gnostic scriptures actually tell the reader to go study Zoroastrianism. It's amazing how this information is available but intentionally suppressed.
One needs look no further than the Gospels to read the story of the "Magi" or "wise men" of the east who followed Christ star to give gifts. Magi is the title of Zoroastrian priest and gives us our root word for Magic.
It's a deep secret hidden in public view in the best selling book in history.

In Christianity, we follow Christ, until Christ began to preach there was no following His commandments. But we do know that the Jews were waiting for Him, the promise of the prophets, the decendant of David. Before Jesus was known, John the Baptist preached Jesus was on the way and to be ready for Him by repentance of sins. His job was to make the way for the Lord to be straight.

The word "Christian" was first used in the city of Antioch (Acts 11:19-30) and referred specifically to the church that Saul (aka Paul) and Barnabas started there.
Before that, every known religion's beliefs on the afterlife were based on:
-Works
-Race / Nationality
-All went to 'heaven'
-There is no afterlife
Christianity is the first and only religion that has a faith-based salvation.

Jesus was a Jew but He is the Christ - hence this is where followers of Jesus Christ are called Christians.
Not sure what the rest of your question is about sorry :-)
