The concern are rogue nations... North Korea and Iran come to mind. Also, whatever country the Republican lead CIA decides to arm.

No, it's not ready... it's still testing.

humorous how the missile shields are all going to be consistent with their former territories isn't it. Its the Bush admin it is paranoid. Iran hasn't have been given any nukes yet as they have noted. And keep in mind united statesa. wanted to bypass to conflict while the Russians based some missiles in Cuba. Its the comparable variety of difficulty. Europe shouldn't enable this militarisation of their worldwide places by ability of a suitable rogue state.

the Missile Defense program consists of many different parts, and it is mainly directed against rogue nations like Iran and North Korea, which have or are close to developing nuclear capability along with long range missiles.

the program is the "son" of the 1980's program named SDI or "Start Wars" by some, but today it is becoming a reality and a very good system!

today, there are 2 operational bases with stand-by missiles in Alaska and California, plus in the Navy we already have (tested) operational modern anti ballistic missiles systems in Destroyers and Cruiser that can knock down rogue nation missiles.

Who knows? China, North Korea and Iran seem happy to develop the technology with a considerable amount of cooperation among them, and sell the technology to just about anybody. A missile could come from anywhere.
