Isaiah 14 . . .
No, I don't believe it's a coincidence at all. I believe the bible writers were the most cunning, crafty, manipulative people who ever lived. Nuff said? Jesus is called the 'bright and morning star' in Revelation.

I'm guessing God gave him a name which means "Light Bearer" because the texts that describe him before the fall indicate that he was an Archangel, probably the highest being of the created order at the time. Being that God is Light and likes to have the light of his glory reflected back on him, Lucifer was probably a very bright creature. So bright that he appeared to be "like" the dawn. He was thus "a son of the dawn" (Isa 14:12) in the same way that James and John were "Sons of Thunder". He had the express quality of brightness. As to the fact that he fell...well he has a few new names, now doesn't he? Satan, The Dragon, The Serpent, The Devil. Plenty of new names.

The name Lucifer occurs once in the Scriptures and only in some versions of the Bible. For example, the King James Version renders Isaiah 14:12: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!”
The expression “shining one,” or “Lucifer,” is found in what Isaiah prophetically commanded the Israelites to pronounce as a “proverbial saying against the king of Babylon.” Thus, it is part of a saying primarily directed at the Babylonian dynasty. That the description “shining one” is given to a man and not to a spirit creature is further seen by the statement: “Down to Sheol you will be brought.” Sheol is the common grave of mankind—not a place occupied by Satan the Devil. Moreover, those seeing Lucifer brought into this condition ask: “Is this the man that was agitating the earth?” Clearly, “Lucifer” refers to a human, not to a spirit creature.—Isaiah 14:4, 15, 16.

Jesus replaced Satan as the ruler of the earth when He died on the cross for His human creation. Jesus was never called by the titles, "Light Bringer" [Lucifer] nor the "Morning star" .
Morning stars are a reference to angels. There exists no coincidence, here !

where does it say that these names were attributed to Jesus? I don't think so.
Lucifer was the Satan's name BEFORE he got thrown out from heaven. Although the name was very beautiful, Satan lost his right to it.
Jesus is not the light bearer. He IS the light. He could not be the morning star because he existed BEFORE anything was made.

A few interesting facts:
The name Lucifer appears only once in the bible, In the book of Isaiah. Isaiah is in the Old Testament, which was originally written in Hebrew. "Lucifer" is not a Hebrew word, it is Latin. And last but certainly not least, the name Lucifer did not appear in ANY bible until the publication of the first King James edition in 1611 a.d.
Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

From what I know, Lucifer has tried countless times to impersonate Jesus Christ - why? So he can be welcomed and embraced by many the way Jesus is.
And for that reason, there are many false religions out there created by him, so he can have embracement from a wide-variety of people - loved by everyone.
But religion truly is a sketchy topic - one I believe you shouldn't trust others with, let alone a stranger from Yahoo! Answers haha. Go seek it out yourself, read and follow what you think is right, and that'll probably be your best bet.
Good luck!

Lucifer and by extension, Lucifer Morningstar have been names for Satan, not Jesus. As for "light bearer", sounds nice but not a name for Jesus that I've heard.

You are greatly mistaken, Bozo the clownie.
The term "morning star" appears twice only in the Scriptures and BOTH refer to Jesus:
Rev 2:28 And I will give him the morning star.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star.
The phrase "light bearer" DOES NOT APPEAR IN THE SCRIPTURES
STOP PUTTING WORDS IN GODS MOUTH THAT HE NEVER SAID!
REPENT AND BE SAVED!

One difference. "Accomplishment." One just sit there while the other one did something for mankind. Wonder "which" is "which ?"
As an ex satanist "Lucifer" DOES NOTHING, ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING and if good for NOTHING. I used to be one of the "worst" demons on earth as an ex EVERYTHING who got a kick out of abusing and hurting others out of my own stupidity until the Lord got a hold of me.
Lucifer as the "light ?" Give me a break. Call upon him to VISIT you and see how much light he gives you for bothering him ....
