how come it says that the milk expires maybe a day or two earlier in NYC than the other expiration date on the carton?

It's because the NYC health department operates independant of the NY health department and it has stricter standerds on dairy.

Milk is good up to a week or so after the expiration date is up. I have never heard that milk goes bad earlier in NYC , but ill look into it.

Not a lot of cows running around NYC so I suppose its because of the distance from the dairy.

i personally dont let milk last over a day or 2 in the fridge(mmm.....cows are so useful...beef....milk...eggs....what arnt cows good for??)
