Please, as a favor to me, just give your thoughts about this article from your standpoint. Don't bad-mouth other religions, or atheism I guess, in the process.

I think it could be dangerous to meddle in things without fully realizing what the end results can be. Makes me a little uneasy, although there can be benefits from scientific advancement there needs to be a line somewhere.
from another religious standpoint many would see it as "playing God". Why create more life when there is life already on Earth that needs to taken care of? starving children around the world, orphans, i think there are more important matters to attend to; take care of what life is already here before trying to create more.

It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with. As I know it we may produce the forms of life by natural means, but are unable to artificially create life. Only a creator personality or a creative force can supply the activating living spark and bestow the endowment of mind.

If they are able to surpass the three hurdles mentioned in the article I would be curious to know if there is any form of intelligence.

I think they may have already been successfull at this. AIDS and Hepatitis C may be examples. From a religious standpoint I say let love create life. Love being whoever God is.

Ben Franklin got in trouble with religious institutions when he invented the lightning rod. Only God was suppose to say where lightning strikes. But people get use to things in time.

Oh no... Does this mean that there will be even MORE FANATICS praying to "their" own gods as well??! At least we know that these 'neo-gods' will be putting on their pants one leg at a time, like the rest of us do now.

Talk about being Man being created in the likeness of God... But this is quite a stretch though.

LOL.

Peace be with you.

I think that it proves that intelligence can combine lifeless molecules under controlled, specific circumstances, and form a life form. How is this any different from what I believe God did centuries ago?

Despite the obvious "This means evolution is true!" hype that both sides of the debate are going to toss out here, I think that it is fascinating. The universe has always been absolutely awe-inspiring to me, and this is one step closer to understanding God's creation.

I have no problems with it, and I look forward to seeing where it leads. I remember when they cloned Dolly the sheep and the high hopes I had for cloning, and how quickly nothing came from it.

That being said, I'm sure the evangelical atheist's will be telling me what it is that I as a Christian think about this soon enough.

I think it's dangerous and stupid from a practical standpoint.

I think there are serious ethical issues from a religious/moral standpoint.

What's so wrong about scientist creating life?

If we are going to complain about anyone creating life, lets complain about all the retarded hicks that live in the bible belt and bang their cousins and crank out mini-retards and sponge off of welfare and ruin the economy?

Smart people creating life, regardless of how it's done, will never be as bad as retarded people multiplying like rabbits and bringing this country down.
