Hi. I am male, 20 years old, 6'1" tall, and weigh 175 lbs. but I want to get to 155 lbs. Is this a realistic goal? I am planning to lose this extra weight in about a month. I am trying a +-1000 kcal./day diet. I eat an apple in the morning, a complete meal for dinner (avoiding red meat) and another apple at night. Is this healthy? I am not excercising because I don't want to feel tired during the day. will I lose a lot of muscle? Any opinions welcome.

P.S. Sorry about my english.

Not realistic. You want to take it off slowly to be able to keep it off. Thats not healthy look up some sites online.

I think it is awesome that you are making an effort to lose weight but 20 lbs in one month is pretty extreme. You will probably lose a lot of muscle with the plan you have. On the subject of exercise, staying active actually will increase your energy level rather than decrease it. I think If you eat healthy and couple that with some cardio exercise than you should be able to lose the weight. I also want to point out that at 175lbs at your height your not exactly overweight. You might want to think about strength training. This would actually burn fat and add muscle which would make you look trimmer and stronger. Just to let you know as well men do tend to lose weight faster than women so you have that to your advantage. My brother has lost 100lbs by using weight watchers. They teach you that a safe and healthy rate of weight loss is about 1-2 lbs a week. In your first week or two on your new diet you will probably lose quite a bit more than that. I hope my answer helps. Good Luck on your weight loss and God Bless.

That is not healthy!!!
Grown men should have +-2000 calories a day! So that cannot be healthy at all. I also heard that by eating a full breakfast in the morning, makes your metabolism faster, which helps you to lose weight, so an apple won't cut it. You don't sound overweight, so maybe just try working out at the gym just a little in the morning? That shouldn't make you very tired.
And your english was perfect!

1000 cal/day is way too low. Not safe. Starting off with such an extreme caloric deficit will cause your metabolism to slow down (which is the last thing you want) and could seriously impact your health.

If you want to lose weight fast, aim for no more than 2lbs/week of weight loss. Don't starve yourself. Eat 3+ meals per day (keeping an eye on calories). Rapid weight loss affects muscle as well as fat, so also make sure you're getting enough protein (meat, eggs, soy) in your diet.

Exercise is important too.
Regular cardio to burn fat and keep metabolism up.
Weights/resistance work to help maintain muscle.

20 pounds in a month ? Possible? Maybe, but healthy? Not so much.. Ideal weight loss done right usually comes off at about a pound per week.. Any more than that and you could end up gaining it all right back or ending up with extra lose skin. It's better to take it off slowly. Hope this helps.

20lbs is possible but i don't recommend it you want to aim for 1-2lbs a week.
as for you food plan no it is not healthy
breakfast is the best meal of the day and also sets you up for the day you want to be eating something like poached egg on toast and a glass of water to get you brain working.
eat a hand full of nuts for fruit a few hours before lunch.
try a sand-which or pasta for lunch
have another snack a few hours before dinner
try some lean meat with veg eg-chicken stir fry for dinner
the key as you can probably tell is to eat small portions every 3-4 hours this keeps you metabolism going and you energy levels up.
so you will have to try that exercise sometimes ae lol

Yes it's possible but it's VERY unhealthy you'd be losing water weight, not fat. Water weight is easy to gain back once you start eating normally again.

To lose weight the right way, you should eat about 1800 calories per day and exercise 3-5 days a week. Your workout should include both cardio and weight lifting. Your diet should consist of healthy foods like fruits, veggies, fat free yogurt, egg whites, oatmeal, chicken, fish, and brown rice.

Good luck!

actually, yes you can. with the diet planmy mom and i tried, its ok to do it. to me it's healthy. but you have to be watched by your doctor!!! my mom lost a lot of weight. it has been i believe two years and she lost 164 pounds! amazing. (No she did not have surgery.) i did it for like two weeks and i lost about ten pounds. but you really have to be committed. drink protien shakes. dont drink those lame ones from like wal-mart like those slim fast. trust my mom, lol, they dont work all that well. we used nectar. drink one in the morning and one at night. eat lunch regularly but healthy. you might get tired of it, but it's worth it in the end. you should excerise. at least take a 15 minute jog or walk. do some weight lifting. i am in track and i am a thower. this helped me out a lot. good luck. tell me how it goes. i am 15. TRY IT. once you have lost weight start portioning your meals. did you know that the average american eats double of what a normal person eats? yea i freaked out. o and dont drink diet soda. that has a lot of sodium and that causes your stomach to expand and making you eat more. sorry for my grammar!
