Well, personnally I don't say I know... but dispite that, I think that knowing anything is folly only that to know is to be absolute. There are no absolutes. So I guess, I agree with you.

GOD HAS TO BE AN INTELLIGENT DECISION
=====================================
Yes you are right, YOU CANNOT BELIEVE UNLESS YOU KNOW!
Many believers are believers because their parents were. Or they are believers because they are comfortable being so.
BUT YOU CANNOT INSIST THAT YOU NEED TO SEE INORDER TO BELIEVE.
That is next to impossible, because God is not in visible and tangible flesh, so you cannot see or hear!
THEN HOW YOU WILL KNOW
I will tell you my experience, We had sort of hide and seek from my childhood, yes me and God. Many things that I observe I was seeing his presence, but to chose to ignore him.
Then came in science, whether you like or not many things are unanswered. If Z is evolved from Y and Y from X and so on till they find no answer how the ultimate A came into existence!
Again without even having the mechanism of dating objects which are a Hundred Thousand years how scientists prove the age of fossils that they claim billions of years old?
Again there crops up, my old friend, God. He has given me enough knowledge to realize his presence. But I chose to ignore.
Now I was deservingly punished, till I turned to HIM.
Is it a hallucination? NO I can challenge the biggest atheist to spend a few days with me at my family, if he does not feel the presence and blessing, Yes I will agree I am wrong!
Now, while I obeyed and surrendered and obeyed to his will, I have not become a dullard! On the contary, people realize me as a man of God! (Not because I dress or make appearences. The other day, at a mall, a university professor, whom I have never met, and himself an unbeliever, walked upto me asking, "are you a man of God")
Perhaps this may not the best answer, but it is a partial testimony!

Have you ever thought, if people would really believe in GOD, and still continue to do all these lot of work we see around, both good and evil?
Impossible man, impossible. With such believers GOD is alive more than with us. What work we have, if GOD is alive? Nothing, Some people do a kind of work which they call preaching and some other do a different kind of odd job called atheism and many other go about their own numerous other businesses. Who cares whether GOD really exists or not. We just make politics spun numerous situations for making money. That is all that has been happening around.

I do not know, I feel there is something.
I am not religious however, I do not believe in the bible, or any other so called sacred texts.
I believe that God is within us, we are part of the same puzzle.
I am a firm believer in reincarnation because of my personal experience when I was a child.
I had strange memories , I have scars on my body since I was born, the memories I had coincide with the scars.
God does not punish people like the religious want you to believe, it is a shame religions are driving people away from the truth and God by teaching horrible things like HELL .
God is love, there is no hell.
Love and peace to you.

There are some things about the universe that it is possible to know, through logic and observation. Logically, it is possible to come to the conclusion that God does indeed exist. Armed with this knowledge, we may observe the universe and come to further conclusions about characteristics of God.
1st - Since it is possible for a supreme being to exist, and since in eternity all things that are possible must happen, God must exist.
2nd - God must be eternal, or another being that is eternal would have supplanted him, and be called God.
3rd - God must be omnipotent, or another god would have supplanted him and be God.
4th - There is only one God, or supreme being capable of being God. Otherwise in eternity, there would have been a battle resulting in only one God anyway.
5th - God interferes in the universe enough to influence it enough to prevent any conditions which would tend to lead to his non-existence.
6th - God must not mind our existence, or his above mentioned interference would not allow us to exist.
7th - all observed phenomena existing in the universe is therefore part of his plan. Whether or not the minutae of each event was deliberately pre-determined is immaterial.
8th - Whether or not observed phenomena may be explained by science and not divine miraculous intervention is also immaterial, since once an engine is built and set running it runs without constant tweaking. That doesn't mean there was no builder, or that the occasional tweak is impossible.
9th - Since we observe many events we would consider untoward, we must conclude that God has some incentive or motivation not to do a lot of tweaking.
...and so forth.
I KNOW that God exists. I KNOW that he is the ultimate cause.
However, there are some things about God that we can't know for certain, but only infer, or have beliefs about, unsupported by scientifically proven facts. What are his secondary motivations? What does God want from us, if anything? What is his ultimate plan for the universe? These are questions that we have traditional answers to, and believe without proof, because the answers will do until something better comes along. They work for now, and that's all that matters.

Do you realize that when put into practice in the world Christianity (true Christianity/ not legalistic, nitt picky, cruel and horrible religion/ Christ-like behaviour is what I'm refering to) So anyway, Christianity is the only belief system that can be practiced in the world around us. Try living a relative life. Where tolerance is required at all costs and everything is relative to the individual. Can you see where I'm headed. Tolerant people are only tolerant of people who agree with them and they never tolerate untolerant people. Relativism....ummmmm it's my opinion that all blonds are worthy of death, and because I'm my own person you can do nothing to stop me killing them. (just as an example) Evolution teaches us that we have no purpose in life, we are but evolved nothings. That will help your self esteem. Islam is violent, Buddist is the desire to live a life free from desire. As long as you have the desire to have no desire you'll never get there. And socialism (which is definately a religion) is just tragically sad. It doesn't work, and anyone with their eyes open can see that our world is plummeting down hill, because we have decided that we are God and can therefore make our own decisions and change the world to fit our own desires. Christianity is a belief in one God. He loved us (his creation, his children) so much that He sent His only son to pay for our sins. Now, because He made us with a free will, many of us choose not to follow Him and turn to man made opptions. However, those who do chose earn a relationship and eternal life. I think the reason God gave us a free will is so that we could ultimately learn of his grace and then out of a heart that loves him give our lives to Him. He doesn't want puppets, He wants a heartfelt relationship from the children He loves. I really sincerely hope I don't come accross as rude or sarcastic, because I genuinly was trying to answer your question without being oppionated.

I had a near death experience where I saw myself on the ground laying there. I was showed something that is very personal to me. You are right, some people believe, although some people know. I also know no matter what I say as proof, or anyone says, you will not believe. I too have many problems with the bible. So I am spiritual, not religious. And I do know there is a God. I hope someday you will find your truth. I forgot to say when I came to, my lips were blue, and when some one dies they defficate on themselves. Yes, I did.

The Greeks knew there were atoms before the microscope and they talked of innate knowledge. Maybe, some people believe because of fear but there are some who have innate knowledge. Many discoveries were made by people who knew what they were looking for. I have had dreams that have come true and other unexplainable events that have given me proof of the supernatural. I see the results of the works of Jesus and I have proof. I feel the love that travels thru many Christians and know that it comes from Jesus.

I really have no idea how can they use the bible to say that God exists.
I assume they have never read the bible.
I am going to post just one verse of the bible, how can this be the word of God?
IT IS SICK!
HE DEMANDED 16,000 VIRGINS BE GIVEN TO SOLDIERS AS WAR PLUNDER AND 32 BE SET ASIDE FOR HIMSELF: Num. 31:31-40 says, "Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the Lord commanded Moses. The plunder remaining from the spoils that the soldiers took was 675,000 sheep, 72,000 cattle, 61,000 donkeys and 32,000 women who had never slept with a man.... And the half, the portion of those who had gone out to war, was....16,000 people, of which the tribute for the Lord was 32."
Women rank right up there with cattle, donkeys, and sheep.
And they have to be virgins, at that! Imagine a righteous and perfect God wanting 32 virgins to be set aside for himself!

I have looked deeply into the formation of the universe, the complexity that exists within it, and came to the conclusion that there is absolutely no way that it could have possibly happened without an intelligence behind it.
After coming to that conclusion, I tried to logically decide what God was most likely to be like, and Christianity was the only major world religion that came the closest.
But I readily admit, that these are all best guesses based on my interpretation and analysis of the evidence presented to me, and I very well could be wrong. So it would be irresponsible of me to say that I 'know' that God did it, but I don't see any other reasonable way it could have happened.
