Hi, I'll be going to NYC with my parents for several days next week, our first time. We'll be staying at the Millenium. We pretty much got down the tourist attractions and tours but not much for where to shop and eat.

We are after mostly souviniers but as well as clothes and interesting stuff for shopping, price can range from little to a lot, but of course we preffer to shop where we get the most for our bucks, but we don't mind spending several hundred dollars.

And where to eat, I know there are a lot of restaurants and delis and hot dog carts there, but we don't know where's the best or the worst. Other than the hot dog carts, where are some good pizza places, and the other authentic New York foods are at?

Thanks.

Every where you go there are Suvouvinier shops with I Love NY Tops I got 5 for $10.00. Also a liberty of statue pen! =]
Basically where ever you go will be find shops. If you want designer cheap stuff go to canal street! Or Wall Street. I forgot which one. But you'll find out when you get there.
Macy's & Bloomingdales arn't so cheap but you can get some good things like a cup or something which i got! Just for the bag.
There are some brill restaurants on hells row. They are amazing! The Galaxy is very good. Also the Olympic Diner is very nice!!! The Hot Dog Carts Are Good as every day New Yorkers get there breakfast from them!
Have a good time! x

Oh if your from the UK- It soo cheap over there!! I went with $400 dollars and came back with $200 and something! And i brought loads!!

Several hundred dollars will not go very far in NYC.

It's very expensive here. Bus and subway fare is $2.00 per person.

Food is very expensive. The Museum is expensive. What's free? Central Park, do NOT go there at night.

Pizza:
Italian Pizza
Luzzos
211 1st Avenue - between 12th & 13th Street
