I'll be in NY, early November from Tues to Sunday. This will be my first trip and will have my parents with me. Some things I already know we will be doing are going to Broadway, shopping, Met (museum), Guggenheim, Central Park, Statue of Liberty, etc. Anything else? Touristy and off-the-beaten-path suggestions are completely welcome. Thank you!

Don't forget to go to the site of the Twin Towers and pay your respects.

Don't forget "Hell's Kitchen" the real one. Times Square but only in the daytime (night fall brings out the freaks),

While you're in Central Park, check out "Strawberry Fields". Named after John Lennon (your parents will know who he is and appreciate this side trip) and it stretches from 71st to 74th Streets. Also, take them to the Dakota Apartment where John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono (still resides) lived and where he was shot. It's located along the way at the building at 72nd St. and Central Park West. I bet your parents could tell you where they were when they heard John Lennon had been shot. Don't forget the Central Park Zoo (it's pretty awesome). You realize you could spend days in the park???

Check the link below and look to the left... all kinds of things to do, just in the park

I just got back from NY a couple of weeks ago. Its amazing:)
We had soooooo much fun. A great hotel that we stayed at was the Pod hotel (I sent u the link :)) Very trendy and hip! Very inexpensive as well. Close to Rockefellar Center, Radio City and much more. Close to subway station as well.
We came too NY thru jfk and took the Airtrain to Manhattan.
Very fast and not pricey at all. Well.....what I advice u to see and do? Definately go to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Be sure to go directly to Statue of Lib site to be able to make reservations for a monument pass. With out this u will not be able to get into the statue. Well at least up to the pedastel. Also...u can make ur ferry reservations thru that site aswell. Be sure to go to a Broadway show:) Love it!
Wicked the musical is Amazing! If u get there 2 in a half hrs. early to theater u can sign up for the lottery drawing to win front row seats for only $26 bucks. What else......Go visit The Top of the Rock at Rockefeller center:) Amazing view of NYC skyline. And much much better view than then going to the Empire St. bldg. Plus......it's not that crowded as the ESB.
Also....visit the wonderful museums MOMA, The Metropolitian museum of Art. Take the subway everywhere.....buy a 7 day metro pass well worth the $. Wear comfy shoes cuz u will be walking alot. Visit yummy food places.........Lombardi's pizza on 6th & spring:) in lil Italy thee best pizza ever. Visit Rice to Riches.....yummy and best rice pudding dessert ever right across the st. from Lombardi's.
Eat Hot dogs from Papaya king. Have tons of fun and take lot's of pics! I Love the Big Apple!!!!! Woo-hoo!
P.S Check out TripAdvisor.com it helped me alot on reviews on places and hotels:)
I sent u many links too check out hope they are helpful.
