My boyfriend Is in Afghanistan with the Army, some of my really close friends, one in the army, 2 in the USAF, one in the marines, and my brother just joined the Marines, also my grandfather was in the USAF. It's weird because, besides my grandfather, when I was growing up I didn't know anyone in the military then while I was dating my boyfriend he joined the Army and it seems like after that everyone I knew was joining. I couldn't be more proud of all of them, it seems like I'm sending more and more packages each month to all of them!!

I have one cousin who was an Officer in the Navy and another who was an officer in the Marines I believe and served two tours in Iraq. I don't get to see or talk to them much though they live far away. I'll be the third in my family to join the military. I'm shipping out to the Air Force in January and very excited about it.

My whole family is in the military including me. My wife, me, father, both grandfathers, sister, aunt, 2 uncles...and theres a lot more. Most of us have served in a war, me 2 trips to hte sandbox. I have hundreds of friends who have gone, are going, or are there, and I've lost more than a few. I have great pride in anybody that can volunteer their time for a country that has people who do not appreciate them. I know we have those that do, but at the same time, we have those that don't, and the reason they have that right...soldiers, sailers, marines....

My Dad was a Navy Vietnam Vet, his father was a Marine who served in the Korean War, all of my fathers 4 siblings joined the Army. Several of my cousins joined different branches of the military. I joined the Marine Corps, and married my husband whom is also a Marine and a disabled Iraq war vet. My 13 year old brother says he wants to join the Marines as well when he gets older.
I am very proud of my family. I am very proud of my husband and at times proud of myself, and hope to re-enlist soon to continue the legacy of my family. Not only did we all join the military but everyone of us also has used our GI Bill and obtained college degrees. Now that is another accomplishment to be proud of.

Do you want to join the military?

My son is a Marine who recently returned from overseas. My father was in the Army Air Corps when it became the Air Force. My brother served as a soldier in Viet Nam.

I am proud of each of them, for the contributions they made, for their willingness to serve, and to the men they are because of it.

Kamie, I am proud of all of our American troops, they are in harms way protecting us from the terror groups that are in the Middle East and likely to cause trouble in the US. Those men and women are heroes to me, they volunteered to do the jobs that they are doing and they are doing a magnificent job, if you ask me.

Jimmy J, who can blame you? My son is there too after three tours in Iraq, 1 in Afghanistan and many other places as a crew chief on a Chinook chopper, he has gone back again as a mercenary doing the same thing he did as a military person and yes indeed I worry about him and all of our troops, men and women.
