Yes.

There might be some additional paperwork to file, but if you are a legal resident alien, you can purchase long guns. I think you can also purchase handguns, but you'd need to call BATF's Regional Office to find out for sure.

In fact, it might be a good idea to call the BATF Regional Office before attempting to make a purchase anyway. If you call, be sure to get the name of the agent you talk with, and write it down for future reference. Also ask that the agent send you a written opinion, either by mail, or e-mail.

It always pays to document your contact with the BAT-men.

I'm not really sure but one thing to consider is that Canada doesn't have a restriction on Short Barrel Rifles. So I would double check if you're looking into a rifle that the barrel is 16" on a rifle and 18" on a shotgun no shorter in over all length of 26 inches. Anything shorter would be classified as a Class III item which could be next to impossible to import. These require a BATF back ground check and a Tax Stamp. This may or may not help but just wanted to post it just in case.

I live in Pa Im not sure if you can buy a rifle. Why don't you just try to buy one and see what happens. The worst that can happen is they will say no.Atleast then you will know or they can tell you what you need to buy one.
