Give me your choices of who's image in the boxing world got ruined by what the media exploits about them.

I want to know why you think they did it and how much of what they have done you believe, this is a simple question that desires yet a simple answer. The one who gets best is the one who puts more heart into their question. So please everyone who is a boxing fan or critic or even boxer, answer this question. This is for every ones enjoyment and is not to be based on a serious question of boxing but more like fun and how much you actually dig to find what the media televises about these boxers. Who do you think got it worse, or who do you think was ruined by them but isn't talked about now a days. May the most simple and though tout answer win and good luck my lovely brothers and sisters of this one earth!!

P.s.

You can jot down more than one boxer, it's good to know that people really still adore the sport.

I'd say Tyson. He was the king of the ring back then. Then all the fame got to his head and he started to screw up big time. Granted he still would've self destructed without media's help, but with D'Amato gone and no real source of genuine positive influence and guidance in life and career making decisions(he was basically still a kid when he became champ), public opinion in a way became his reference for approval, and the media hype made him up to be this invincible boxer who can destroy any man who steps into the ring against him, that kind of pressure is no picnic for a boxer fresh out of his teenage years, it didn't help when everything about his life was splashed on the news front pages including his marital problems. I think the famous ear biting incident was born out of his frustration to live up to the media hype. That kind of reputation is hard to live up to, it also pretty much messed him up inside, especially after Douglas defeated him.

When Murdoch undermines all decency in many parts of the World, we are to believe that his empire cares about WE THE PEOPLE? Money is the evil and lies are his basis for acquiring more and more. Well, # 15 has been arrested in the hacking and more to come. Democracy is a foreign word to Murdoch and the Koch Brothers. Protection of Capitalism even at the cost of the destruction of any Country is all that counts with these People. Tea Partiers you have been had. I know you had good intentions but have been railroaded big time. Some Dictators have entered your terrain and are destroying you as well.

Muhammad Ali by far! He was the first media/marketing sportsman. Boxing might not be alive today if people weren't still talking about Ali. I don't blame them for saving their own jobs by promoting him - it is only natural. It just irritates me when they say that he couldn't be beat. Real fight people get pissed by hearing that. Therefore, I consider the purity ruined/ contaminated. The rest is all fluff.
