Wash it and cut into smaller pieces. Then you should par-boil it by dropping it in some boiling water for 15 seconds and then shocking it by placing it in a bowl of ice water. Once its dry you can freeze it in ziploc bags.

You need to blanch ( boil or steam) in water for about 3 to 4 minutes depending upon how big you cut the florets.
This process inactivates the enzymes which cause off flavor or color over time in the freezer.
If you wash, blanch, and cool in water as fast as possible then freeze to zero degrees F as fast as possible then protect it in plastic. Place it in a good freezer where the door isn't being opened all the time and it will last a long time.
If you are keeping it less than a month than blanch only 2 minutes and your kitchen freezer will keep it fine.

Prep the cauliflower first.
Cut off the stem and make into portion packs so you don't take out more than you need.
You can also par-cook it in salted water for 5 minutes. This will reduce the size to make more room in the freezer.
NOTE: don't put anything hot or warm in the freezer. Always cool it down in the refrigerator first. This way it will not form ice crystals.

I agree but I would par-boil for at least 2 min. the idea is to kill any bacteria and enzymes that would continue to degrade the veg. What you have to know is freezing only slows things down it doesn't stop it. Oh, no more than 2 min. time it.

I agree with Irish Girl. This is referred to as blanching the vegetables.

youll need to blanch it first (that means cook it for about 2 minutes) freezing it directly will make it turn to mush when you defrost it.
