will useing two voltage reg. (7805) help to prevent heat build up?

Not enough info here. 2 5volt regs will just give you 2 different 5volt power sources. That has nothing to due with heat build up as that is a function of the current drain going to the load.
You give no hint of what kind of load, current usage, or cause of heat.
