I got this explanation from someone:

"Your Born with a Messed Up Spirit (your born Lost)
Then, you Accept Jesus and Jesus Recreates (Saves) your Spirit
Now you are a Child of GOD
Now you keep on Sinning.
But, you are a Child of GOD that is Sinning, not a Sinner sinning.
The World calls sinners---the ones that go to Hell.
Children of GOD are NOT going to Hell, but, they can Still Sin like Hell!!!"

This sounds like a clique to me, like a social club where discrimination is exercised mostly against "outsiders", simply for the reason that they are not "part of the club". It doesn't sound like it has much to do with actual conduct of the followers, but more to do with just being a "member". So the same actions that are considered "sinful" and horrible when an outsider does them are condoned when done by a member. They still "crack down" on their members, but the members are granted much more leeway.

Here is a bible verse passage that seems to be contradictory to the previous explanation.

"Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother."

God-belief ..IS.. a club.

They seek members... they have rules... they hold regular meetings... they collect money (like dues)... they have officers and volunteer workers... you have to join most churches and become a member... and they kick out members they don't like.

If that's not a club, what is?

Well, within Christianity there are many cliques. Within some of those cliques there might be some who would use a cliche. Cliques and cliches are different words meaning different things. Unless you belong to a clique that tries to think that all Christians use cliches that you heard someone say one time, and then judge that all Christians do not have a relationship with God because you thought cliques were cliches.

It doesn't seem very fair to me!
