The Prophets foretold of the coming of the Messiah. Since Jesus has come and died and been Resurrected for our sins, then there is no need for Prophets anymore. It is up to the Churches to spread the Word of God. Thanks for the question and have a great day!

Yes He does, all those who go about preaching God's word can be considered prophets of today. Unfortunately, there are more false ones than true ones, and so they distort God's word as given in the scriptures.
Please read the Bible carefully and meditatively praying to God to open His word to you. You will find the prophets, wise men, apostles, teachers etc. come alive to you in it's pages.
However, more important, Jesus will come alive to you -- you will personally know God through Him.
God bless,
Andrew

there are still many prophets. Martin Luther King Jr is a good example of God speaking through a person.

He wants to speak to us in the same way, we have just become hard of hearing. Besides when God does send prophets to speak we don't recognize them for what they are.
We dismiss them as insane.
I agree with the person who said maybe we are just to busy watching TV. Maybe if we cut all the noise out of our lives and just sat and listened to what he wanted to say we would hear him.

God does speak to prophets today. The Church of Jesus Christ was restored and is on the earth.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is lead by a prophet of God today.
If you want to know more, ask a member of the church.

Because Jesus fulfilled the new covenant. We also have the Bible to let us know about God..we don't need prophets anymore.

It is true that the prophets have not been in human form for over 2,300 years but that Sages have been with us and are still with us today.

i think that he probably does, we're just to busy watching tv to listen.
also, if you take into consideration how many people there were on earth during that time and that the bible is over a very long period of time, he really didn't talk to that many people.
