There's lots of things you can do to have good sleep hygeine. No caffeine of any sort after 12 noon. Use your bed only to sleep...do not read or watch tv in it. Take a cool shower as cold as you can stand it. Sounds counter intuitive but the lowered body temp gets your body ready for sleep. You can take an over the counter med called melatonin. It helps you sleep and doesn't leave you feeling hung over. You should also stay away from cigarettes and alcohol in the hours before bed. If it keeps up see your doc it can cause other health problems if sleeplessness continues too long

Well, there are many ways to help you fall asleep. If you are a reader, you can read before bed. This will help calm you down and re leave stress. If you aren't, try listening to some peaceful or quiet music. This will also help ease the body to sleep. You can also drink tea before bed. There is a type of tea called ' Sleepy Time Vanilla". It makes you really sleepy almost instantly. If you don't like the taste, just add some honey, sugar or brown sugar to help with the bitterness. Also, having a very active day can help. If you get lots of excersise, then your body will be exhausted and you will be very tired by the end of the day. If none of these things help, I would contact a doctor. Sleep is important, and you can get very sick without it, so i would ask for a little more advice. It may just be that you are SO used to getting only a few hours, that you're body is just used to it, and doesn't think it's un healthy. Maybe it's your envirement. The sounds of the World may be disturbing you in the night. Whatever the case, I hope this helps :) remember, sleep is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! so you have to at least TRY :) good luck

Sleeping pills, the over the counter ones are good. Also limiting caffeine especially in the evening. Exercise in the morning. Going to bed at the same time every night. Don't use the bed for anything, but sleep and sex. Set up a sleep routine like reading a book, listening to a relaxation tape, praying, or meditating. Anything to signal your body that it is time to rest. Don't nap during the day, it throws off your natural rhythm. Get sunlight during the day. If these don't work you should talk to a health care provider, there could be more to it.

Melatonin works well and it's a natural sleep hormone so it's safe to take. You can probably find it in the pharmacy section of Walmart. You also have to force yourself to stay awake during the afternoon, part of the reason you can't sleep at night is because you are getting your rest during the day.

Try going out during the daytime and refrain from sleeping during the day (no matter how sleepy you may be). Go back home at night, eat dinner, take a shower and go to sleep. You should be able to fall asleep quickly.

My best advice is to go to a sleep disorder hosp. My girl has sleep Apnoea. Warm milk may help for now. But Get tested for Sleep Apnoea . It pr event's enough oxygen to get into blood stream and definitely will effect your schoolwork.

I know a lot of people think this is bad, but take a Tylenol PM about an hour before you go to bed. It will help get you to sleep and will help keep you asleep.
