Their is a catholic priest in the Netherlands who suggests we (Chrisians and Jews) all call our God Allah. As if this would somehouw placate the Moslems. The problem being is that the Moslems nor the Jews believe in Christ. Anybody think this is a good idea??

no, Jesus is Jesus and Jesus is God, it would be blasphomy to call Jesus anything then what he is (such as allah) and the muslims are not going to buy it.

Many Muslims who have converted to Christianity use the term Allah when referring to God. Also, the Coptic Christians in Egypt reportedly used Allah before the time of Muhammad. We should not do it to placate the Muslims, but if we have fellow Christian brothers and sister who do use it, we should not tell them they are wrong. In most cases, it is the only word for God they know.

no, muslims do believe in the christ, and believe in christianity, and it says in their book "three would go to heaven, people who follow torah (jews), people who follow bible (christians), and people who follow quran (muslims)" and by the way i just found out that the word allah actually means god in arabic, so their god is the same as the christians god, there arent many differences between the religions, but the media and governments try to make the differences big and the similarities small

all religions call to thinking with logic, e.g. though shalt not steal (same in islam) why shouldnt u steal, because it isnt ur property and ur hurting other people when stealing that is logic, and what u refer to in america as 'Duhhh'

there are alot of arab christians, and some arab jews, and they all call god allah.

also in the quran it does state that allah, sent the torah and bible thats why muslims who dont believe in torah or bible would not be complete muslims

I believe you mean "Muslims," not "Moslems."
But, to answer your question, I... Wait. What
was your question again?
There can be no similarities between Muslims
and Christianity or Judaism. Although both
religions believe in a god, Muslims make no
reference to "a son of God"; and even if they
did, his name certainly would not be "Jesus."
(Which may be the one and only thing that
Christianity and Judaism actually completely
agree on.)

Actually muslims do believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that He was a Prophet of God. And about that catholic priest telling people to call God Allah, thats totally weird.

This dilemma will be addressed shortly, there are to many souls at stake.
There is great validity in your question, I have pondered this same question, myself.

My response to this question is not based on a religious view. I am spiritual and within my heart I feel that something
beautiful may happen very, very soon.

Contrary to the general consensus among the religions
(God and Allah) are one in the same. There can be only one Creator, and this language barrier must stop. It is ripping the heart out of people of faith. Faith must flourish and it is in short supply in the world today.

Well, in Arabic, Allah literally means "The God," and Christians and Jews who speak Arabic use the term when referring to their God, so I don't have a problem with it. As for Jew's and Muslim's disbelief in Jesus as God, in English we use two different terms for them, even though some people beleive they are one, so why should we not be able to use Allah for God (the father) and Jesus for the Son? Linguistically it's not wrong, but it would just be a symbol of Arab dominance.

This does not sound like a good idea to me.
God told Moses what His name was, The English translation of that name is "I AM AS I WAS, I AM AS I WILL BE, I CAUSE TO EXIST". This is most often shorten to "I AM".

I also don't think Christians should call our God "Buda" or
Mother Nature.

The Allah of Islam is not the God of Christianity.

No. I find it interesting that there is a moon god also called "allah". I can't remember what religion it is. I'm pretty sure there's no connection between that and the Muslim faith, but it is interesting. For Christians and Jews, that would be breaking the 1st Commandment, so I don't know why any Catholic priest would want that.

Muslims (and Islam) say Jesus was a prophet but they reject all His teachings ....that is hypocrisy.

They reject Christ's diety;
they deny his claim to be the Son of God;
they deny his death on the cross...
they deny His resurrection..
They deny Jesus is the Christ/ Messiah...
In fact, the Quran says : "Allah has no son".
Need I say more...?

Don't be deceived. The Islamic god is totally different than the God of Jesus Christ.

The Bible calls Muhammed and those like him false prophets:
"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son. He that denies the Son, the same has not the Father." (I John 2:22)
