. It seems to draw criticism & ridicule from non-believers or people trying to find the truth. When there are so many unanswered questions, it’s time 2 start thinking for yourself. Don’t let anyone tell U the way U should think, including me. U have the right to reject or accept any belief. It takes time & experiences in life to believe and build faith, and 2 keep faith. Religions get caught up in he/she said, if U don’t do it our way, this will happen. God does not want U thru fear, God is love and all what love stands for. Love is not a chemical in the brain that is a “feel good hormone”, nor is it a fairytale fantasy. Love is as real as life is, proof that U are living & breathing. Life is no fairtytale, nor is being in love or believing life after death. Your heart & mind carries the truth. What do u have to lose by talking or praying to God and asking that U find the truth?

The story of the bible was passed down from generation to generation for two thousand years. Ever tell someone something, only to have it come back to as completely different? Thats why most people do not trust the Bible. As well as the fact that many who speak the "Word of Christ" by screaming "God hates Fags!" at the funerals of children, and denouncing other religions or people. Many people have corrupted Catholic/Christian faith and have warped it to fit their own means. People like you who actually follow the words of Christ are far and in between. The pages of the bible are stained in tears and blood. That is why more and more people denounce it, because more and more people make it look like a terrible faith.

The Bible, Religion, and an actual relationship with God are all very different things. Why must one accept all or nothing? A book that contains a single civilization's history, folklore, mythology, philosophy, and poetry should not get in the way. Read it take it, accept what makes sense, reject what doesn't. There is a lot of good stuff in that book. Don't let a few details that just don't make sense to you make you throw out the whole thing. It is a book written by many different men. If you reject the writings of one or more of those authors, it does not devalue the contributions of the other authors. I agree with you. Decide for yourself what you want to believe.

The problem with the bible is that it was written so long ago. The only way to interpret the books, chapters and verses that don't translate well to today's world is through symbolism.

Some may feel it is all too much. Perhaps then it is best to just take the Ten Commandments and the words of Jesus from the gospels to heart as the message of God can be found quite easily there.

The answers are there. The bible is not a cookbook. You have to have built a solid background with research before you can get your answers. It is admittedly a lot of work. I enjoy doing it even though I am an atheist and do not believe a word of it. There are reasonable answers there.

What would you do if someone broke their promise to you... or constantly betrayed what your eyes see.. you would have to eventually call him a liar.. there has never been love in a religious setting... love means respect... love means acceptance... not condemnation and change... spirituality is meant to be our union with nature... in animals it is an instinct in humans it is a conscience, religions seek to break that bond and create a dependency on religion alone.... we are trained to think that what is greater than us comes from religion alone so when we leave religion and our spirit heals it automatically connects with nature then we sense that " presence" people have gone without this sense for so long they begin to believe in "god" but it's actually a natural healing and conscience.. there are ways to work with this sense and nurture it one simple way is to walk in the forest, it's wholesome and healthy.

The problem with the bible is that it is both ugly and preposterous to a rational mind. Like Homer Simpson says ' This book's got NO answers'

"If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, EVEN TO THE WORDS OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, ....he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strife of words, whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputing of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth....." (I Tim. 6:3)

"...if they speak not according to this Word it is because there is no light in them".(Isa.8:19)"

Why does Satan fight so hard to make sure others don't believe the Bible is the truly Word of God? Do people really think we who have studied the Bible for 30 years will believe someone who probably never even read it?...people who for sure have not ever acted on it?

The problem you appear to be having is that you think that you are talking about something else or something else, when you are really talking about yourself. It's you,

You are saying to me that you really don't care enough about those answers, if they exist, and that you tired too easily from thinking a lot.

It doesn't bother me, but you may consider your affinity to laziness.
