Amnesty. I don’t think so.
Compassion? Yes.
I don’t think you were paying attention to your thoughts while you were typing your post.
As you said, seemingly sarcastically and facetiously, “He ONLY violated FEDERAL LAW”.
I wouldn’t say, ‘ONLY’.
IF he did what he has been charged with; HE VIOLATED FEDERAL LAW.
The thing that everyone that seems to favor amnesty seems to not realize is that amnesty can only be granted to SOMEONE WHO VIOLATED THE LAW.
I have compassion for Mike Vick cause somehow when you look at him and listen to him speak, I get the sense that he truly didn't believe that dog fighting and betting on it was illegal.
I'm sure he had some sense in him and hopefully some compassion in him IF he did kill dogs.
IF he did, I hope he did it out of compassion for the dog's injuries and NOT because of poor performance.
As for whomever it is that you seem to be trying to justify amnesty for...as I previously stated... amnesty can only be granted to SOMEONE WHO VIOLATED THE LAW.
Since this question is in the ‘Immigration’ category, I presume you are talking about human beings that are seeking amnesty.
You wouldn’t need amnesty if you weren’t violating the law.
When human beings cross some other countries border…no matter what the reason and don’t do it in accord with the laws of their country and the country that they are trying to BREAK INTO;
THEY KNOW that they are violating the law.
How about this?
Selective amnesty for those that have been here for X amount of years being productive citizens; meaning that they and whomever they have been working for; living with and or paying rent to, all turn themselves
In and pay back some of the illegally gotten gains and do whatever else the government requires you to do to MERIT THEN gain citizenship.
Trust me on this one…you’ll feel better for it and in the end, you’ll most likely be more appreciated and successful.

It is a sick society if we let him go free. Is football really more important than the lives of inn ocent dogs?I personally despise him and everything he represents.I wish I could tell him so in his face.He is not even a human to me, I really do love animals too much to not get upset with a creature like him.
He belongs in prison and should be made to clean dog crap for years.

Nobody should recieve amnesty. Come the right way the first time around, if you must come at all, nothing to ever worry about. It's called the Law. We must obey the laws, so must everyone else who wants to be called a citizen.

If you aren't aware yet, Michael Vick will plead guilty next week to the charges he was involved in a dogfighting ring.

Amnesty? If you're smokin' you aren't sharin'

He should get more than just 10 months of jail time. He should get at least two years minimum and pay a couple hundren thousand to be given to an animal shelter.

Just because he's a famous NFL quarterback doesn't make him untouchable.

Are you proposing that all criminals be subject to the same rights and should be treated the same. How novel.
I can see why he should get Amnesty, but only if the money he made from the dog-fights was intended to help make a better life for his children.
He didn't actually hurt any PEOPLE, he just broke a stupid law that he didn't like.
Nothing wrong with breaking a law you don't like is there?
I mean if he was the only one breaking it then he would be bad, but since there were other people involved who didn't see anything wrong, then that law must have been a stupid one anyway.
And as we all know, if a law is stupid and enough people don't like it then it is OK to ignore it.
Any Pros out there want to tell me that I am wrong? Not just that it is a different situation, but is that actually the way that laws should be regarded?
Last I checked, knowingly violating a law shows criminal intent, situations don't matter.

Relax, Sharpton will be here any time now to make sure this racist illegal deal is reversed. After all, if some white football player had done what Vick did, why he would probably have gotten a $100 fine - according to Sharpton that is.

Screw Vick. There is no justification for engaging in dog fighting. This is a sick pasttime. Another punk bites the dust.

Absolutely NOT - I am tired of those famous or rich, or well known, people getting the breaks. If you break the law, you should pay the price, doesn't matter who you are!
