If everyone is a "sinner", then wouldn't "sinful lifestyle" cover everyone? Why the need to single people out sometimes?

Wefmeister: are you retarded? "John" disagrees with me? Are you incapable of formulating your own thoughts? Do you always have to refer to the bible? I didn't ask for the bible. It doesn't even address the question at hand.

Yes we are sinners, but we are called to repentance and must endeavor to change our ways. A person living a "sinful lifestyle" is unrepentant insofar as they have decided to embrace a particular sin or set of sins. The difference seems subtle, but it is of great import.

Ultimately...we all fail from time to time, but we need to keep trying. Trying to convince ourselves that the sin we like is ok as long as it's just this one little one is an attempt to fool ourselves and God, and will never succeed.

Wefmeister is right.
The verse addresses the question directly.
Why do you hate the Word of God?

Here it is even a little plainer:

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife. And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this? Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present. When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.
Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.

I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."

They got that Sinner Stuff all wrong.

Look:

Your Born with a Messed Up Spirit (your born Lost)

Then, you Accept Jesus and Jesus Recreates (Saves) your Spirit

Now you are a Child of GOD

Now you keep on Sinning.
But, you are a Child of GOD that is Sinning, not a Sinner sinning.

The World calls sinners---the ones that go to Hell.

Children of GOD are NOT going to Hell, but, they can Still Sin like Hell!!!

Total Difference!
See?

John disagrees with you:

"Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother."

Because some sins have a much greater impact on society thatn others. God says hatred and murder are the same, but the impact on society is much different.

Because people are extremely judgmental, and a lot have a "holier than thou" attitude. Which, might I add, is extremely wrong, and I'm thinking God isn't too happy about it.
