lol They will ask you about certain situations pertaining to the job and ask you what you would do faced with those situations. They will ask you for specific things that happened in your life that you could apply to your job skills. This must be your first job, good luck bud =)

It would help to know what sort of job. For the most part, dress up well and act enthused about the company. Don't worry about overdressing; dressing to the nines should be fine.

I don't know what to expect, it depends on the company. Sometimes they ask stupid questions like what are your weaknesses. If they ask any version of this question, like what are your weaker qualities, I think it's fair to assume that they deserve a stupid answer because that's what they are probably looking for. You might find an answer online, or say something stupid like that you sometimes work so hard focusing on a task that it is difficult to switch to another one. Then turn it into a strength by saying but at least then I remember to return to the old task after the urgent one is completed. (People who ask this dumb question are too dumb to realize that sometimes they shouldn't insist that there must be a weakness. If we have one and we get rid of it, it's gone and we shouldn't insist that there is another. But they don't get it.)

There might be other common dumb questions to which you can find dumb online answers. When I answered generic questions with original good well thought out answers, I DIDN'T get the job. They want stupid answers if they ask dumb questions.

But it might be a strong company. If the questions appear sensible, have a ball! and come in as though you are there for the job and they just need to figure it out.

Attempt to arrive early so that you will be there on time! But if you have to wait a long time for the interview, don't be surprised. After the interview you might call a day or two later and they might tell you more about what they were looking for, even if you don't get the job.

One more thing, read a little about the company and maybe have a question for them because they will ask at the end if you have any questions.

The first thing you need to do is relax. Interviews are important for making first impressions, but you should also be yourself and try to be thoughtful with your answers.

what to wear:
Depending on the formality of the place you're interviewing with, you should dress slightly nicer than the position than you would have. Make sure you dress conversatively and that nothing is showing (no cleavage, midriff, etc.) and wear closed-toed shoes. (no flip flops or sandals!)

what to expect:
You will check in with someone, and whoever is interviewing you (usually the manager or HR person) will greet you and shake your hand. Its important that you smile and give them a firm handshake, and make good eye contact. This shoes self-confidence and professionalism. Next, they will invite you to sit down and ask you a series of questions. However, some places have unusual practices, such as group "pressure" interviews, or interviewing large groups of candidates at one time. But usually, the interview is one on one. The questions will be along the lines of "Why do you want to work here?" and "What positive qualities do you have that will make you a good employee?" However they will also ask you about your weaknesses as well as what you didn't like about your last job or supervisor. Answer these questions, but try to be positive and don't say anything nasty about your past jobs. Maintain good eye contact, pay close attention and show that you're interested. After they ask you a question, pause briefly to gather your thoughts before answering. When the interview is over, make sure to shake their hand and thank them for their time. If possible, get their business card and ask when you should expect to hear back from them.

Good luck! It will get easier every time. : )

It depends what kinda job you're applying for. Is it a casual or business enviornment? Did you go into the location, what were the people dressed like. I would say you could never go wrong overdressing. I suggest you wear some nice dress pants, low heels and a nice jacket or top. Nothing too revealing or tight, in colors that you feel confident in. Be prepared to carry yourself with confidence, be courteous. Look the person in the eyes when you speak but don't stare them down either. You should let the interviewer know what you like about the job and how you are a great fit for it. How you feel you can contribute to the company. Don't chew gum, Don't put your purse on their desk and don't act bored or arrogant.

Wear - be neat and clean and wear what you see others wearing to similar jobs (office - suit, labourer - smart casual, etc.).

Expect - questions on your abilities to perform the job or your abilities to quickly learn what is required for the job. Some will get you to fill in an aptitude test - just put what you think as there are no "right" answers.

What happens - they ask you questions (Could be one person or a group of several people asking the questions.). They might ask you to perform a task (eg. office - typing, labourer - mend something). They will also be asking questions to see if you can work by yourself (able to think things out for yourself) and also work well with others (able to take orders or offer advice from/to others).

Tips - research what the job requires before you go, try to appear confident, make eye contact, smile, be truthful, appear eager to want to do that particular job and tell them you are willing to learn.

Should do - see tips.

Should not do - be late, chew gum, argue, think the world owes you.

Just be yourself and you will be fine. Good luck..

First of all, calm down! Wear what you would wear for the job. (I am in health care, and I wear scrubs to all my interviews) keep the make up light and natural, no big, gawdy jewelry.
Remeber, if you are nervous, they will detect it, so stay calm. Dont chew gum, dont fidget, and always look your interviewer right in the eye! Use good grammar. Be ready for some of the questions they will ask. One of the most common questions is "Why are you leaving your current job" Do a google search on job interview questions.

Lots of people forget to send a thank you letter for the interview. Dont leave this out! it shows respect to thank your interviewer for taking time out of her/his busy schedule to see you.

It cant really be summed up in one paragraph. Employers can see dozens of people for a single job. They notice and remember the slightest details which may or may not get you the job. It can be an extremly competitive process. You should really read up a little about it before submitting any applications or resumes. The library and internet offers many books about looking your best on job interviews. On the web I recomend ebay , amazon and abebooks.com . Good luck !

1)wear professional clothes.
slacks and a jacket are good and wear comfortable shoes with stockings not bare legs.
2) prepare for questions such as what are your
qualities/ worst qualities?
3) smile, be honest about your qualities and be on time. (10 mins early)
4) try not to fidget or bite your nails
5) thank the person who interviewed you and then send a thank you note when you get home.
(also have your resume and references in order)
