I'm 19 years old, and I have been spoild for my hole life. But I thought it might be time for me to get a job. So what was your first job and any suggestion on what I should do? And what kinds of jobs are easy to get with no experience? Oh, and no fast food jobs please. And I live in Southern CA.

What do you consider fast food?

My first job was McDonalds, but that's mostly because they were the only place in our area that would hire at 16.

Coffee shops, diners, and ice cream places are all great first jobs. Most are casual and more fun than fast food, but look for the smaller chains as opposed to the big names unless you want the extra stress.

Book stores are also very good to work in. But try to stay away from anywhere that would hand you your paycheck only to have you turn around and give it back (from buying things). While that's great for you, it really doesn't teach you much about saving up, and makes it a lot harder to keep your self control.

Good Luck.

I began babysitting and ironing (yeah, I'm pretty old) for people in our small town when I was 14. My first real job was as a Nurses Aid at the hospital. That launched my career as a nurse. I went to nursing school and have been a nurse for 34 years.
If you are intersted in health care at all, there are many jobs you can get at the hospital, such as unit secretary or transporter with no experience.
