I understand where your coming from I'm 18 and god called me into the ministry earlier this year, but I really struggled with accepting the call because I'm not very smart and I'm not really in a financial position to go to collage but I'm going to trust that God will open a door and take care of me.
I struggled with this also because I'm was afraid that I could do it.
But I realized that god is calling me and what kind of a servant would i be if I ignored him?
I also thought about the fact that I say I'm willing to do his work but when the time came I almost turned my back on him, what a hypocrite I would be.
Just sit down with your parents and say I know you might not understand this but God is calling me to do his work. (to be in the ministry) and I'm going to accept the call, you may not be be-hid me but I'm going to do this, I feel it's Right, I know it's right. I would like it if you were supportive of this decision.
something like that, just speak from the heart. And pray that God would open your family's eyes.
In the end, It's between you and God, pray about it.

MY friend, when God calls you for something there is no denying it. Obey your parent for this is right, but also obey God for this is His commandment. Made sure we are not talking about going to school to be a preacher or joining a religion for the purpose of starting a ministry of some sort...When God calls you He will teach you if you are reading and practicing what you have read. His holy spirit will guide you into all things, have patients and wait on the Lord.

Do not think what others say. God first before everything.. The first step you will do is to join a true religion that his teachings are only based on the bible. You can easily detect a true religionm if you know and understand the bible. You have to study with them the supposed doctrines before the baptism, then let your self be baptized. Prove yourself that you are worthy to God and to that religion to be a worker, then your evangelist will appoint you to be the Minister of any ministry in their congregation. When God will really anoint you to be the evangelist, it will come even without dessiring. God will help you to obtain it.

I can tell you that I do volunteer at our church in the Childrens ministry, also I can tell you that because I volunteer, there is no pay (as far as financial) this is why I also work. I recommend that you follow your calling, but also make sure you get your degree in something, whether it be in religious studies or something else.....remember God also gave us common sense and you really need a degree of some type nowadays.....

Catholics call this process discernment of call to ministry!
We have an office in every diocese for this purpose.
I'm sure most churches have similar arrangements.
Speak to your current pastor or minister in charge.
They can point you in the right direction.
If you are being called, you won't be happy anywhere else.
Your parents are only concerned for your material welfare.
If your call is genuine, the Lord will provide for you.

I say bravo! My 17 year old is thinking that way and taking baby steps. You dont say how old you are. Join youth ministry and help out and join anything you can at church. Put your heart in it and pray for Gods guidance. If its to happen HE will find a way despite your parents and friends wishes. They arent the ones living your life - YOU ARE! Good for you!

It is important to understand that when God calls you to do something that He does not always mean that you should run of and do it now. The process is usually- Calling,
Preparation- This often involves learning to be patient, trusting in Gods timing not our own, ex. Moses new God had called him to save his people he was just 40yrs to early and tried to do it in his own strength.Exodus chapter 2-chapter 3.
Then Action. Action without preperation leads to trouble. Wait for God to lead the way

OK....first and foremost...remember to honor your father and your mother. This is a commandment, and very important.
Second, if God is calling you into ministry, He will find a way for you to do it and still honor your parents. Right now, be opened and willing to follow His will. Prepare for the next step, but wait...God will make a way if He is calling you.
Keep praying for a solution....be patient!

Your parents don't have to support you in what you do for the Lord. If He's leading it, then you don't need your parents to go along with it. Do what the Lord wants, He is the one that makes it possible.
And you DON'T need a degree of any kind to serve the Lord. Peter, Paul, James, Philip, Luke.... none of them had degrees, nor could they have gotten any. The Lord is the creator of ministry.

Your last sentence was way over the top. "How did you MAKE.."????
Those of us who do humanitarian work don't "make" anyone do ANYTHING. And yes, God WILL take care of us!
