This is dangerous territory. It has been trodded by some of the most famous philosophers. I can only give a humble opinion.
Whatever is pious because it is commanded by god is not governed by freewill. As the bible repeats all over that one of god´s most important rule is freewill for his creatures, I can only deduce that "Whatever is moral is commanded by god because it´s moral" thus denying much of the 10 commandments value.

One has to be moral in the sake of morality, not in the intention to please god.

That is, if there is such a thing as a god... right?

Tough Q my friend...

I answered the same in your first attempt.

You need a knicker de-twisting crew on standby for this one!!!
Personally I think a concept of what is 'moral' or good is innate (inbuilt at birth), and it's a personal choice as to whether or not a person chooses to follow them.
So I think an action/thought etc's morality is predetermined regardless of whatever deity/person deems it moral or immoral.
I'm an atheist BTW.

EDIT: When I say 'moral' I don't necessarily mean it in the religious sense, just in the sense of good or bad.

There is no dilemma about this. Before God put His laws in place man was evil. The 6th chapter of Geneses said that it grieved God that He had created man, because his mind was continually on evil and evil inventions. To answer your question, it is moral commanded by God because it is moral.

"Commanded by God" is an old scam. It is used by religious leaders to justify whatever they want. The "Golden Rule" is universal and predates all modern religions. The gods of religious people have nothing to do with morality.

It is moral because it is commanded by a righteous and holy God. The Great Judge of all the earth commands that we be moral. It is God's laws that we must live by and not man's laws. When man's laws corrupt God's laws, then we must obey God.

If it's commanded because it's already moral then is God not omnipotent to have created the moral itself or the power to say it's immoral (and it must be because he's omnibenevolent too)?

Morality is governed by the Golden Rule!
"Do unto others as you would be treated."
This is so simple & straight-forward that ALL religions say it.
So yes, it must have been revealed by GOD!
In case you have trouble figuring out all the details,
we also have it spelled out in the ten commandments.

Get rid of the sky daddy image, and you're home free. Use your logic. And if you have not already done so, read The God Delusion... on the NYTimes best seller list all winter, and worth every dime.

Neither.

Religious morality is created by man. God is a superstition. There is no absolutely objective morality. It is all subjective to our circumstances and our values.

God commands it because it is moral. (Inherent morality? No...ultimate truth.)
