GM food involves the manipulation of the mechanics of evolution. Or if you like - it messes about with God's handiwork. I would have thought this to be as contentious as abortion - or maybe plants and animals don't count even if they have genetic material from humans inserted into their DNA.

Just because we recognize that evolution is how we got here, doesn't mean we think it is the only thing going these days. Society has evolved much faster than biology. That's why we now have emotional reactions that are inappropriate in today's society. Technology is evolving even faster than society. That's why we're now having to constantly deal with the clash of technology and old mores, such as chat room etiquette.

Manipulation of genes is just another techonology, and it is one which will greatly outpace biological evolution even more. Just because we think something happened in the past doesn't mean we think it will be the same way in the future.

I live in the Midwestern region of the United States and I myself have never heard of this before. That sounds similar to the fact of "ordering your own kids" vs. "duplicating healthy organs so more than one person can stay alive, all using separate pieces". To me, it sounds like the topic is about changing the genes of the organism and placing hereditary pieces, but mixing between species. I find this topic very interesting and will further research it. But let me understand something: Your saying that they are taking human genes and placing them into plants and animals? To me that doesn't sound awful depending on the purpose. If the plant needs a certain gene that is being rarely found in the type of species, and we need it to survive, then I would probably be pro-(insert the saying here). But if your saying that they just take genetic material from people and insert them into plants just to see what would happen or to create different kinds of food for people, then I'd probably have to be con-(insert the saying here). All of these topics: abortion, cloning, and GM foods appeal to me greatly because of their controversal sides. I'm sorry that I was not able to provide you with more information or the information that you were looking for, but that's how I stand on the topic, and I realize that others might be the same, or different. But personally to me, that just sounds wrong.

What do you think "anti-evolutionists" are all about? The process of evolution? Science in general? You seem to be a little confused. We just think science shows that evolution has limits, and that it is not able to create. There is quite a bit of evidence to agree with that statement. Don't build up a straw man.

No one listens to warnings such as this, because it would mean they would actually have to DO something. Wouldn't want to miss the next 'America's Got Talent' now would we?

Get some land, farm it, work the land like God meant us to do. Study the Amish. They have an agricultural community which has worked for years! To do anything else robs the land, robs the culture, robs the poor, well just basically robs. It's all in the name of 'progress', and the end result is, you reap what you sow.

Although I'm against GM food, I think it's safe to assume that everything we do manipulation's G-d's handiwork. (pollution, invitro fertilization, etc.) But I was under the impression that anti-evolutionists are against evolution because they don't believe in it, as opposed to simply thinking that it shouldn't be attempted.

as quickly as you seem into how "evolution" you communicate with happens, you will see that the flu virus under no circumstances turns into something yet a flu virus. it ought to mutate, yet interior of this is genetic parameters. H5N1 is a locater for a protein interior the flu. this is not any longer evolving... GM nutrition - as sure, I see random threat at artwork here... in guy's labs. no longer evolution. probable risky tinkering.

God made man so that he could manipulate.

That's why we aren't living in trees like the apes.

HE wanted us to "prosper and multiply." That is what we are doing. If you have a problem with that, you might want to try another planet.

Oh, wait a minute. We haven't got that far yet. Guess you'll have to wait a bit until we prosper that much.

g-day!

Don't give them any ideas. Maybe someone should sell these foods outside of the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY.
