God knew that man will have a compassion to explore, and learn, he also put a display of his power for all to see, but I feel God gave his finger print when he made the universe to show he does exist, to show he is real, an undeniable finger print to show his presence in our life. As a painter it is his art displayed, as a director the universe is his grand stage to see many different performances like shooting stars, like the milky way, and other nebula's. Yes it is Gods grand theater to show his power and his presence as to why planets are here. Scientifically I feel it holds our planet in checks and balance, and God knew how delicate the earth is, so planets play a role in the Earths daily survival, and God laid out a master plan for it.

Because they declare the glory of God. Have you noticed that God favored one planet called earth? He put earth in the exact position needed. God said He hung earth on nothing. He didn't say that about the others, but they were created for earth's use. The sun, moon and stars are definitely for earth's enjoyment or benefit. God just set the others in place so I guess they must need to line up correctly.
God did these wonderful things just for us. God said that we give Him pleasure. God enjoys watching over us. One day we will get to explore all of these planets. God will make a way for it to happen. He gives us the desires of our hearts. What a wonderful Lord we have . . . a great God.

I have given this a lot of thought in my time and I ahve come up with a few answers.
1. Something to do till Jesus comes again.
2. Something to bicker about.
3. To challenge ones faith.
4. To show his amazing abilities did not stop when he made
the Earth. (not to mention it would have looked silly to
have just one planet dangling all alone in the night.

Our Universe Creator Son of God Jesus Christ is making, when done, our local universe here with eventually ten million different Human inhabited planets. All of these many Humans are fully our Brothers and Sisters in the Family of God in Jesus !
Thus there are no "space aliens". Jesus tells us to love all persons, even to love our so-called "enemies". Do you? Will you?
We Humans on Earth are not yet much spiritualized to be loving and wise sons of God. Thus, all the other planets with Human life are staying away from here until we perfect much more, and not be so animalistic, crude, degenerate, warlike, atheistic, anti-Theistic, etc.

The higher power (which could be called God) made the all the universes, so why wouldn't he/she make planets? That power can do any thing it wants.

Stephen Hawking has a great answer to this.
Basically, if you take away any of the other planets, then the very delicate gravitational balance that currently exists, wouldn't and life would not be possible on earth.

Well God is so much infinetely more intelligent than us that we'll never be able to look at the big picture of things like He does, but we do know that the Earth's moon plays a role in the oceans' tides.

He realized that he made mistakes on this one. Earthquakes are caused by faults in the Earth. If you don't succeed.......Perhaps UFOs come from planets where God is trying again.
