She dosn't care for Catnip. But she smelled the bengay on my knee and she reacted like she would if it were cat nip. I'm afraid she got some on her front feet, just a tiny bit, I tried to wash it off but she wouldn't let me catch her. She rolled around acting real silly just like she was on catnip. She seems to be fine. But she is naping. She responds when I call her. She is acting normal. But I can't help but worry.
I am disabled and I don't drive a car anymore. Should I call the emergency number for the vet?

Bengay contains wintergreen which is in the same plant family (mint) that catnip is in. So her reaction makes perfect sense. I had a cat that would crawl under the sheets and lick my leg if I had a pulled cat muscle. Talk about a freaky way to be woken up in the middle of the night! lol

Bengay Smell

Bengay is just pain relief medication, but puts heat down on where you apply to it.
Your cat may have been reacting to the chemicals put in it, I'm not sure what exactly they put in it that can trigger the cat to think it is like catnip...but! Maybe she was rolling around because of the new heat feeling in her paws?

If she is fine and is not yelping in pain over the heat and medication, then I think she will be just fine. If you see any new symptoms or she acts a bit differently, maybe you should call a Vet and list what she is doing differently.

Some cats just like strange smells. I wash my floor with something called fabuloso, and I lock her up until it dries, but when I let her out she rolls around on the floor for twenty minutes like she is on cat nip. I don't think the smell will hurt your cat. For sure she doesn't need to get any on her. If she's acting normal she will probably be fine.

I wouldn't. I don't think there's any adverse effects. Humans aren't supposed to take BenGay internally, and probably cats shouldn't either, but it isn't toxic.

If she's acting normally she's probably doing just fine. But you might want to give her catnip next time instead of BenGay.

She more than likely will be fine I don't think it was the heat it was the smell. Cats are funny, I wouldn't let her lick it I don't think that would be good for her. But I am sure it was the smell.

It has dried into her skin and fur by now. I really don't think she could hurt her eyes. Just watch her...I think she will be fine. Peace
