what type of fuel do the model rocket hobbists of Palestaine use as fuel consdiering these things can go 7 miles and everything has has to be scavenged considering the trade embargo?!

It doesn't take much to make a rocket engine, and 7 miles isn't that far. It isn't fair to call the people that make these rockets hobbyists, though - they are probably manufactured in a factory-style setup in an industrial area, either in Palestine or in other countries and smuggled in.

In answer to your question about the fuel used, the website I cite below states that they use potassium nitrate (fertilizer) as oxidizer and sugar as the fuel.

It is a basic rocket you can make at home using welding equipment, steel pipe or other melted iron and gunpowder. Edit: It does not have an engine as such
