I think some great names can be found in Dickens' stories. How about Bumble, Dorrit, Mowcher, Barkis, Boffin, Skiffins, Miggs or Buzfuz? I think it depends on the breed and personality, don't you? Also I heard two syllable names are better than one since there's less chance it can be confused with other one syllable words. Good luck!

I like the name Zorro, but my fiancee has a Sharpei which he names Dog. Very original, and it turns heads wherever we go. :0)
