yes, you can get it at the doc without your parents knowing, as long as you ask the doc to keep it confidential. you also can go to planned parenthood and get the birth control there, it should cost less....and they won't tell your parents either, especially if you ask them not to and give them your boyfriend's address or best friend's address as your own....

Do YOU want to be on birth control? Don't take it simply because your boyfriend is pressuring you. Birth control is relatively safe but it can have some negative side effects and cause long term complications. Do your research and really speak to your Doctor before you go on it. You will have to see a gynecologist to have an internal exam and PAP done before you get prescribed birth control. It's important to ensure you have nothing that the pill could hurt (cysts, discolored cells, STDs, etc). Make sure you don't smoke either, as it increases heart disease when you use the pill. Remember, the pill doesn't protect against HIV or other STDs. If your boyfriend had previous partners and you have unprotected sex, you are susceptible to STDs. And the pill isn't 100% guaranteed to prevent pregnancy.

If YOU don't want to use the pill, then don't. If you want to prevent pregnancy the best bet at your age is to practice abstinence. Yeah, sounds like no fun. But you'll have plenty of years ahead to enjoy sex.

In addition to what Queen B said, you should use a condom EVEN IF YOU HAVE birth control pills. It additionally prevents pregnancy as well as STDs. The reality is most guys cheat on their girlfriends and have no clue that they are carrying STDs.

At least in NY they do...i honestly don't know about MI but i believe they would. your best bet would be to call your doctor and simply ask them. Ive been on birth control since I was 13 and my mother never knew. I even got medical insurance without her knowing so I didn't have to pay for the pill. You can also ask your school nurse.

you can go to planned parenthood for cheaper birth control, however, since you are 18, your medical records should be confidential, and that includes any scripts for birth control. your doctor is legally not allowed to tell your parents, nor is the pharmacy, the rest is up to you.

Some how I really don't think that you're 17yrs. old....Because if you were, then you'd know how to get it. And you shouldn't be
pushed into having sex with anyone. Not even your boyfriend.
You said he's been pushing you to get it.B.C. I really don't think that you want to. Because if you truely wanted to be on B.C then you would have to be pushed into it.

When I was your age, I used Planned Parenthood and I think they are really great. You have a right to your confidentiality.

Yes, tell your doctor to keep it confidential and he or she will be legally required to not tell your parents.
