So why are you feeling depressed ? If at this time your parents don't want to admit that you need their help go to your school counsellor or there are help lines for depression but it is important to talk ! but if I knew more I might be able to be more helpful...but with any depression you need to talk and try and find ways to over come it, good luck :-)

Dear Revolutionary. Depression is a real and serious illness that affects lots of people around the world. I also suffer from depression and have these symptoms (feel down, hopeless, feel very uncomfortable in social situations even though I want friends, don´t date because I´m unhappy to be with anyone). I feel that "is so painful just to be alive". Above all one has to understand depression. Depression is caused by an imbalance in brain neurotrasmiters. You have to understand that medicines work differently in different people. You have to keep on searching till you find the right medicine for you. In my case is Cymbalta. It is not good to stop the medication abruptly. You have to let the medicine work. While you are on medication you should receive therapy, talk to the psychiatrist so you´ll find the root of the problem. If you don´t like your psychiatrist change it but then stick with just one psychiatrist, rely on him and make a plan. Meanwhile, I can tell you that exercise, yoga and acupuncture help. Exercise makes your endorphines go up and make you feel good. Yoga balances and acupuncture cures. You must also try to understand other explanations of depression. The spiritual explanation says that depression is caused by a spirit that is attached to one´s aura. The spirit is someone that died that didn´t get to the other world, this spirit sticks to us and transmits all his frustration. One think it is our mood that is changing but in reality is the spirit mood that is trasmitted to us. Acupuncture works in this spiritual dimension and that´s why cures. Depression is not something that you can just snap out of, it takes time, medicines, therapy, exercise, balanced diet and will power!. If your parents are psychiatrist try talk to them. If you have further questions do not hesitate to contact me. Argentox2@yahoo.com

My land, even doctors don't take care of their own family members. The teen years are the hardest years. Every year that goes by after the teen years are better. Just wait until you are in your 30's and 40's...you will love it much better than now because the level of self-acceptance is so much higher and you will have forgiven the people in your life that made poor choices that affected you. After all it is not God's fault people make poor choices. You always love your family but sometimes you don't like them. If in the background of your mind there are thoughts of suicide then it means that you have great gifts to offer God and society. Satan like a roaring lion wants to destroy you so that you will not be able to do the good you are capable of. God bless you, hang on and perhaps a little anti-depressant is called for. Mmm

Well if your parents will not listen..Do you have an Aunt or Uncle or school counselor you can talk to? If you feel like dieing then you need help. Keep talking to any adult that will listen then maybe someone will talk to your parents.
If not check yourself into a mental hospital.. You need help..it's better than doing something that would end your life..I have been to a mental hospital for depression it's not bad at all..they give you rest and you have numerous doctors to talk to.

In my opinion, when you self destruct you let like some sort of a demon inside of you. It kind of takes over and makes your pains...worries go away for the moment..but then it takes control. This "demon" tricks you and makes you think its good because it "helps" you with your issues but really it starts taking over and it takes ALOT of effort to get this demon out of you. You need something else to get your emotions out...like singing or drawing (even if you suck) just scream music into your pillow or scribble a bunch of random junk on a paper...like write really hard and write down ALL of your thoughts in your head so you can begin to see what it really is that is getting to you. Then take the paper and tear it up and throw it away. Running or jogging is a great way to avoid self destruct because it create endorphins (not sure how to spell that) and endorphins bring happiness. If you believe in God, whenever you start having those negative feelings just say outloud the devil is powerless to God, i believe God is in control. Just remember that you control you and the choices that you make...reveals who you are. No one and nothing else can tell you who you are. If i were you i would stay away from self destruct..even if you really are depressed (and i believe there is a great possibility you are) because of the world that we live in..don't take it out on your own body. Think about what your thankful for and why you want to stay in this world...there is always something that you can come up with. I hope your okay! :/

. i've been through the worst with depression. get out of the house!! seriously. . talk , talk , talk to anyone who will listen. walk and run, exercise. there is something about exercise that effects your brain cells. (your parents will know what i'm talking about) . if all fails . go seek help. go to a therapist , or another psychiatrist if your parents wont listen. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. just don't sit around and feel sorry for yourself. it will only make things worse

then it might be time to talk to someone else...you need to find someone who will listen..as your parents probably could never admit or believe that THEIR daughter could possibly be depressed...just because they are phsyciatrists, does not make them immune to egotisical thinking...and I don't say that to put them down...also, you proably hear all the time, stories about their patients, and are starting to respond to it all...all the talk of depression might be taking a toll on you and you see them so caught up in the sorrow of others, maybe you want the attention so you are feeling bad too, to get some maybe needed extra love at this time from them...I always tell people to ask God to guide them...through Jesus,...I know you're parents are not going to like that one...but the Lord always comes thru when no one else can..good luck and I hope you feel better xx

Make your parents sit and down and listen to you. Keep telling them what you're feeling. They should help you!! Your parents should be there for you no matter what. If they still don't listen to you, go to a school counselor, a pastor, an adult friend, anyone! Someone needs to hear you out.

If they are psychiatrists then they should know how to help you. Tell them that you are having suicidal thoughts.
